  1. 4.5 Big Dam Bridge (819 reviews)
    - Nice views of the river, especially near sunset
    Spent 1-2 hours Bridges

We had read that the views here were nice at sunset, so stopped by the evening of our first day in Little Rock. We first drove past the electrical plant to a small parking lot on the water. There were a lot of people fishing nearby, and we walked a little bit along the beach to look up at the dam. Then we drove back to the end of the dam where there is another free parking lot, and the pathway to walk up and over the bridge. We walked up to the high point of the bridge, where there are some signs indicating sights and other information and the bridge and wildlife. It was probably about half a mile up and then back - there is also a bike lane if you want to do it that way. We spent about 45 minutes enjoying the evening and took some fun photos of the bridge, the water, and the areas surrounding the river. See more..

This bridge provides beautiful views of the city and the river. Both sides of the river have nice running/ biking trails but the South side of the bridge connects to the trails at the Riverfront Park where there are trails and sculptures. This side is where restaurants and shops are found. The view of the city at night is beautiful. The bridge is lit up as well. See more..

It was a diversion from route 65 on way to Little Rock from Branson. The location is close to Clinton. You have to drive 1 mile and half to reach the visitors center. The road is well maintained, but it is narrow and has twists and turns. You pay an entrance fee at the gift shop and trek about a quarter of a mile uphill to see the top of the bridge. This view is much better. It gives a better perspective. There is an old artifact about an Arkansas Shop and Moonshine brewery. It is pretty interesting. The gift shop has interesting items for purchase. The visit may take up to an hour. See more..

    - One lane bridge

We visited on a weekday, unaware that it was closed for painting. The signs at the road we turned on were hard to figure out so we drove down and had to turn around. We did go back several days later on our way back home and were able to cross the 554 long one lane wooden plank bridge built in 1949. It is called the Golden Gate Bridge because of its yellow towers. We were on motorcycles with friends and had no problems crossing, so no need to worry! This is a cool bridge, so make sure to plan it into your route. See more..
