4.5Lake Leatherwood(325 reviews) - Leatherwood adventure! Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Bodies of Water
We hit the water before noon and after renting two canoes and a paddle boat we spent around $60 for the two young ladies and wife and I. Quite peaceful and quiet we journeyed around the lake without hearing one word from anyone else. You can fish off the dock. Rent a camp site for your tent or RV with hookups. Very relaxing. The rental for canoes was for one hour and for us that was plenty of sun and time on the water.See more..

4.5Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock(99 reviews) - Highly recommended for a lake get away Tuesday: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM Bodies of Water
Given the fact of the virus hitting all over we tried something new. We went to Arkansas! Bull Shoals Lake to be exact. The customer service was the sweetest and the sunsets were breathtaking. Not only were we surprised by such a family oriented place but the staff made you feel like you were visiting a home away from home. The weather was unpredictable but the sunsets after a storm... WOW. well worth it. I was skeptical when I read reviews about the not so nice customers and the dirtiness of the place.. but you obviously can’t believe everything you read. I’m not sure where THOSE bathrooms were but these are the ones we were provided. I would highly recommend this place for a small getaway to anyone! My family will be coming back next year! Thank you guys so much.See more..

4.0Black Bass Lake City Park(41 reviews) - Great Short Hike Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Parks • Hiking Trails
So it turns out that my parents lead a hike here for their hiking group and there is the long hike and a short hike. We opted to do the short hike that goes along the lakes perimeter. However the first thing you see leaving the parking lot is that the dam which creates the lake is leaking in two spots and needs some serious repair work done. The hike along the edge of the lake is pretty easy save the hike up at the start. He saw lots of flowers plus slider turtles and salamanders. My dad did take me off on a side trail to see a beaver den that wasn’t two far from the first bridge you cross. The second bridge is under repair but as the stream bed was dry when we were there we could easily bypass the bridge. Really fun and worked up a big appetite. See more..

4.5Bayou Bartholomew(2 reviews) - two steps from city, and you're in the wilds Bodies of Water Headwaters to "The worlds largest Bayou: Bayou Bartholomew is a beautiful piece of water. I took my kayak down behind the local Wal Mart parking lot where locals were fishing from the bank. Easy parking and boat launch access and I was trimmed upstream through the reeds and cattails. Some local group oversees this body of water. It was free of tree snags for as far as I could go. Once before I've gone downstream, under the freeway cloverleaf (too fun!) and into the thick of the swampy parts. It was beautiful! If you like the outdoors, try this body of water. There are great walking paths upstream a bit at 'Old Waren Road' if you don't want "IN" the water. Snake-spotting is a pretty safe bet. All free, of course.See more..
