This interesting area of rock formations is accessed through the gift shop with a $6 admission price. The trail is easy (a slight grade in some areas) & makes a loop back to the starting point. We enjoyed our short walk in the woods & took lots of photos of the natural rock walls & odd rock formations along the way. I was disappointed that the gift shop had so little of its own merchandise. I really wanted some postcards, but all they had of their own were magnets. Be aware that the road in, Pivot Rock Rd., is narrow & curvy. We questioned if we were going the right way more than once.See more..
Giving it 4 only because it isn’t mobility or visually impaired friendly, lots of steps and uneven room transitions. Although it was really cool, self guided, with lots of information and a must if you did the gangster museum tour as this was the Southern Club back in the day. Would highly recommend for inquisitive children of the appropriate age, there is a torture chamber section (you can skip this) it’s not overly scary and my son would have loved it when younger. Also several fairy tale sections for the younger ladies or young at heart. In the bottom floor you will get more of the history of the building in its former glory and ties in nicely with all the other historical offerings.See more..

3.5Pickles Gap Village(70 reviews) - Whimsical Little Roadside Attraction Speciality & Gift Shops
Trying to define just what Pickles Gap Village is proves to be a difficult undertaking. Nestled off a busy highway outside Conway, Arkansas, this little tourist destination exudes country charm. The attraction is a cluster of farmhouses style buildings waeach housing a specialty shop. There are gorgeous antiques, novelties, local snacks, and a sweets shop that boasts delicious handmade fudge and other confections. Out back is a questionable petting zoo, but the real charm lies squarely in the village as a whole. You won't spend a full day here, but if you have an hour or so to spare, stop by Pickles Gap and bring your camera!See more..
3.5Chaffee Barbershop Museum(32 reviews) - Don't miss if you are an Elvis Fanatic Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
On March 25, 1958, Elvis Presley walked into the Fort Chaffee Barbershop to receive his iconic G.I buzz cut that was dubbed "the haircut heard 'round the world." Since its creation in 2008, the Chaffee Barbershop Museum has welcomed visitors from all over the world. Guests will experience a 1950's era barbershop that looks exactly like it did that fateful day when "the King" strolled through the doors. Located in the heart of the Chaffee Crossing museum district, the barbershop has been restored to its condition in 1958 when thousands of U.S. Army enlistees received their signature army buzz cut. It also houses a historical museum with photos and artifacts documenting the 70-year history of Fort Chaffee. Items on display include memorabilia from the base that was used by the United States Army to house German prisoners of war, Cuban refugees and relocated Vietnamese citizens. Three Hollywood movies have been filmed here. Displays recall these and other important historical events.See more..
Only went to the shop and the lady was very helpful about telling us that since it was raining, we would have a hard time with our vehicle on a very rough road. Therefore, this rating is for the information that the lady provided us. See more..
3.5Avatar Crystal Mine(27 reviews) - Not bad, but crystals are on the smaller side... Tuesday: Spent 2-3 hours Geologic Formations • Mines
We had a pretty good time hunting in the mine but found only small crystals here. According to "Dave" who was watching the mine while the main guys were in town at a festival said that was the norm at Arrowhead. Considering the fee (20 bucks) we felt good about the quality and quantity we found. Just a bit disappointed that we didn't find much that was larger than about 1/4" in width. All in all fun, not a bad day. Warning though for drivers of small cars... the road in is rough and I did use 4wd going in. Pretty deep ruts so be careful not to get high centered.See more..
3.5Millwood State Park(25 reviews) - Hidden Treasure Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM State Parks
This is a hidden gem in the southwestern part of Arkansas. Two hour drive from Little Rock. We camped in site 70, right on the water with a view of water lilies and cypress trees that are just starting to change color. We camped on Sept 26-28, 2014. The weather was warm, but very comfortable. There are two hiking trails, a 1.5 mile along the shoreline and a 4 mile that goes into the hardwood forest. The trails are well blazed and very wide. The four mile is also maintained for bicycle use. The site we were on was large, a grill, fire ring, picnic table and electricity. The restrooms were very clean. There is a great playground that looks like it just got some updating. The grounds are very well maintained, the grass was cut nicely. The people are very helpful. My daughter did bird watching and the skies are really dark. We played on the swings under the stars. I would highly recommend this park.See more..

We rented the 42 foot pontoon boat. Pretty much a party barge. It was big enough for us to bring corn hole, coolers, floats, grill, table and several chairs. It had a large garage awning over most of it for shade also. I definitely recommend renting this boat for a great day on the lake. The staff was very helpful also.See more..
A pleasant drive (about 8 miles) through the refuge, but DON'T expect to see wildlife other than birds. This place was made to be a birding refuge for migrating birds and it is spectacular as such. Just don't expect deer and bears and the like to run across the road in front of you.See more..

3.0Downtown Helena(14 reviews) - Visit to downtown Helena and surrounding sights Spent 2-3 hours Historic Sites
My family and I spent some time in Helena recently. We went to the River Park and saw the big Mississippi river. We also went to the Confederate Cemetery that was high on a hill above Helena. It was very interesting with old graves and quite a view. I also really liked just driving down Cherry Street and seeing the old downtown. My mom is from the area and used to go to Cherry Street for fun on weekends as a teenager.See more..

We camp at Piney Bay every year for Memorial weekend. The bathrooms are always pretty clean. My biggest complaint every year is that the grass is so tall that we are afraid to let our kids play too much. We have to bring our own lawnmower and weedeater every year to clean up our sight so we are not dealing with the tall grass. The people who mow the grass always come during the middle of our weekend when we have all of our camping stuff set up and we have a lot of family visiting us. The will skip over us and not mow around our area most of the time because we already have everthing set up. Last year the kids were no even able to swim because of the bacteria in the water so all they could do was play on the grass which was unmanageable. See more..

Nice picnic spot off Hwy 8. Several picnic tables with grills and a covered pavilion. Lots of shade trees. Room for kids to run around. Mine found a geocache here. This is a small commemorative park, not exactly where the battle took place, but there are signs with information about the skirmish. The actual battle took place just a couple miles away near Marks Cemetery. At that location there are Unknown Soldier headstones, a lovely Nature Trail through the battle site, and more information about the Marks Mills and conflict. We were glad we decided to go down the dirt road to see all that. It was a surprising find.See more..
