Just finished this Escape Room with a Rembrandt theme and it was awesome. It was the first time in an escape room for our the children aged 8, 10 and 12 and our sixth or seventh time. This was definitely the best escape room we've tried. Very friendly staff, beautiful 1485 built tower, excellent quality puzzles and a wonderful theme. Our visit of the cheesemaking operation in Streefkerk was more than a tour. It was a truly charming experience from beginning to end. Our guide was proud (yet oh so humble!) of the family tradition she was honored to both inherit and carry on in her own daily work, alongside fellow co-workers equally devoted to excellence; but also to the enjoyment of what they do. They all seemed happy to be doing what they do! So often such a tour is just a placeholder or placebo to kill a little time before the primary purpose of the tour: the retail shop. This was the opposite. We actually learned how Gouda cheese is made by those who are busy making it. The "tasting" at the end of the tour was, of course, wonderful. Biking around the Dutch countryside was truly a unique experience with Marco. Not only was the scenery itself worth seeing, but our tour was customized for us so that we could do things we wanted to try while there. Specifically, we had read about the Dutch delicacy of eating raw herring and had mention it to Marco. He was able to bring us to a local food stand selling fresh seafood and we were able to try the herring! Actually was pretty tasty! Also, we were able to try fresh cheese and had other delightful experiences along the tour. We did the full day tour. If you have any sort of physical impairment, and I mean ANY, I recommend the half day. My husband and I are generally physically fit and 15 miles on a bike was a challenge for us but well worth it! There’s nothing I felt like we missed on this tour and Marco’s insight into the areas history and connections with the locals made this a top experience for us! So glad we did it! See more..
