4 Star Places To Visit in Southeast Romania, Romania (50)
4.0Plaja Mamaia(707 reviews) - Great spot to chill and sip beer while reading next to the sea Beaches
Relaxed scene, attractive people, beautiful water, and everything except the boardwalk is convenient. We spent three days crashing out on the sun loungers and sipping drinks by the sea. The water was cool but not cold and, assuming due to the pandemic, things weren't crowded. I found the service chairside to be more than acceptable and prices, we were paying in GBP, were affordable. The beach was clean and the sand was nice each day. I will happily come back again next year.See more..
4.0Cazinoul Constanta(665 reviews) - In refurbishment - hope it will gain its former glory Architectural Buildings
After decades of oblivion and degradation the Casino is finally in a refurbishment process. Today is not much that you can see except for the scaffolding and the construction that is going on, however I do hope that it will regain its former glory and once more be the most iconic building of Constanta ... shining as the brightest architectural gem of the city. It you are in the are you can check it out ... but wait till it will be ready ... Until the reopening nothing more to add ... the good thing is that its being refurbished.See more..
4.5Danube Delta(474 reviews) - Fantastic views and exploration of Danube Delta Thursday: 1:00 AM - 11:30 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks • Nature & Wildlife Areas
We had a fantastic stay in Danube Delta! Letea village and forest are definite must-sees! I recommend having the traditional fish dishes in Sulina or Letea. You will for sure receive the freshest fish and enjoy the preserved biosphere. We went in summer time which can be a bit tiresome with high temperatures and humidity level, but we definitely enjoyed it!See more..
4.0Moscheea Carol I(314 reviews) - Great for a quick visit. Lookouts • Religious Sites
A landmark of the Turkish role in the region, The Mosque of Constanta was built in 1910. It features a 50 meter high (160 ft.) lookout with spectacular views of the surrounding area including the Black Sea.See more..
Yes, the museum is basic, staff don’t speak English an it’s dusty but, there are some great artifacts here that would normally be in a wealthy museum ie from the Roman Period. Quite rare and amazing including the only bust of Consul Marcus Petronius Sura Mamertinus in existence. He was the son in law of Emperor Marcus Aurelius. See more..

We booked online tickets even if it is a little more expensive, at least they guarantee the entrance. I really like dolphins, so the show always impresses me. We also enjoyed the small zoo, even through rain.See more..
Very nice experience and worth the long drive from our gitsl. I loved every part of the landscape and nature. It is a must-see destination. I just recommend for them to improve the English description of the place to lower-case so people can read the information better as it was all in caps with typos as well.See more..
4.0Piața Ovidiu(156 reviews) - Great pedestrian zone Spent < 1 hour Historic Walking Areas • Monuments & Statues
It's a very beautiful square in the heart of the pedestrian zone of the old city part of Constanta. It's a joy to walk over here, take your time and enjoy each step, each building. The only thing to be added is that, unfortunately, there is a lot of work which still needs to be done regarding some old and extraordinary beautiful buildings/places and I can add here: The History Museum, The Roman Mosaic zone (which seems will enter soon in a renovation state), The Lions House... and there are others too...See more..
4.0Telegondola din Mamaia(152 reviews) - Nice View Thursday: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Trams
We went during the day on a Wednesday to avoid the crowds. We had the entire cabine to ourselves. The sea and city views were amazing. Fun thing to do when in Mamaia. 20 ron per person per way, so for 2 people back and forth we paid 80 ron.See more..
4.0Constanta Beach(147 reviews) - Only 3 months / year Beaches
Constanta and Mamaia beaches are a place to go only from June to September cause the weather is cold for the rest of the year. Do not expect too much from Romanian beaches but enjoy the sun , the Black Sea and outdoor activities. Under any circumstances do not eat and do not let kids to eat from those who are selling corn , melon or anything else directly on the beach cause you can quickly end at the hospital . Eat only in restaurants packed with people cause there food doesn't have time to alterate.See more..

Althou a small space is dedicated to geology and artefacts, you get enough information of the growth over the time of the place that today is Danube Delta. You get to see what peoples of last 500 years were doing in ther backyard with the natural resources. Also there is a quite big aquarium filled with sturgeon fishes. All of them! Also' there, you'll find Nemo! And much more! A comprised natural history museum.See more..
The site is on top of a hill from where you can see a lot of the land in this part of Dobrogea. Quite amazing views. Too bad there are no guides or at least some written information on the site, unless you buy a printed map of the place, you would not know anything about the time or people who built it. It’s a hidden gem though, definitely recommend if in the area. See more..
4.0Sulina Beach(87 reviews) - Dust sand and wildlife... Beaches
A quiet place where you can listen the sea, birds and watch wild horses and cows. Music is is low, chillin' and vibing with nature. A lot of families with small children playing in the sand and enjoying the first 100 M of the sea under 1M depth. Warm and calm sea, teaming with banks of small fishes, perfect for "recharging the batteries".See more..
4.0City Park Mall(80 reviews) - Nice mall Thursday: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Shopping Malls
I went here as I had time to kill before a flight. The mall was pretty nice with many shops. I enjoyed the sports shops where I found some cheap Reebok shoes. Also the food court on top floor is nice for a meal.See more..

Definitely a monument that I'm speechless of. I really recommend tourists to visit this piece of art, because surely you will learn a lot of history about Romania. My favourite part of this monument is of course the statue, but the base is constructed in a very talented way. Everyday I think about how did those people live in those times. It's unbelievable. As I said, I really, really, really recommend visiting this place at least once.See more..
4.0Corbu Beach(72 reviews) - Not worth the hype... Beaches
Corbu Beach is a fairly wide, wild beach, covered by beautiful shells and not so fine sand. Unfortunately, the beach gets invaded every summer by the campers and caravans, leaving lots of garbage behind them. The water is nice, no rocks or algae, but that depends on the weather, I suppose. The only place close to the beach where one can have something to eat is a restaurant called "Casa Veche", which boasts to specialize in fish courses. Don't be fooled, the place is a trap, with very bad food and unreasonably high prices. We ordered some grilled fish ("chefal") which was served almost raw, sushi style. In addition, during the entire meal, we had some very friendly companions, in the form of tens of flies, flying around the table and sitting on our food. The polenta ("mamaliga") was stale (not freshly made), full of lumps. On the bright side, the view was spectacular, as the beach, as I said, is very beautiful. The price for a 2-person meal was almost 30 EUR, but we were hungry when we left the table.See more..
I visited this museum in December last year. It has a lot of interesting items; I admired icons at the ground-floor, rural items at the first floor and many other interesting and colourful objects. I would say that it is a very interesting museum both for adults and children; it presents nicely the exhibits and it is pretty complex. There is also a small boutique at the ground-floor where I bought two pairs of earrings, a blue for me and a red for a good friend. All in all, I recommend it to everyone who likes art, history, rural stories and who is interested in culture.See more..

4.5Romanian Navy Museum(49 reviews) - The visit was a really nice surprise Military Museums
We entered this museum with low expectations as the website is looking old fashioned and is not telling exactly the truth about the museum. But after entering it, my 6 years old boy was quite amazed and I have to admit I was too. There is a historical walk through the navy related items, ships, clothing, materials, commercial, army navy items. There are also a lot of ship models. The outside yard is not so attractive, the things exhibited over there should enter in some restoration in order to become more attractive. It was a very nice and interesting tour.See more..
On the shore of Lake Tăbăcărie, in the north of Constanţa, the Biserica ortodoxă Sfantul Mucenic Mina (Orthodox Church of Holy Martyr Mina) is built in the Maramures style (Northern Romania). Therefore its architecture is not typical of the Dobredja region and at first sight I assumed it to be purely a tourist attraction, representative of another part of Romania. Whilst portraying a much earlier epoch, the church was only constructed in the 1990s. Being just a short distance from the resort of Mamaia this reinforces my suspicion that it was built for touristic purposes. However, I discovered that it is a living and working church with a faithful congregation. It is also a work of art, constructed virtually wholly from wood, charmingly decorated in a rustic style and kept in very good condition. The grounds and out-buildings are delightful too and the church's position on the lake made it an altogether lovely stop on our sightseeing tour.See more..

If you are looking for a wonderful sightseeing and to practice some sport or just to walk around, the Danube River Cliff indeed is a very good place for it. Therefore, the best time is during summer and autumn. Enjoy.See more..

4.5Faleza Cazino Constanta(35 reviews) - The Cazino of an Elegant Past Spent 2-3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks
This marvelous building and its surrounding park setting is right on the Black Sea just down from the Old Town section of Constanta. Sunrise and sunsets are magical times here during all seasons. We like to stroll and think of our own romantic walks for the past 30 years, but there's plenty of new couples out and about now, too. Some good newer clubs and restaurants nearby, so you can sit and sip as you contemplate an era gone by. I hope some entrepreneur figures a way to revitalize the Cazino itself into its old glory.See more..
4.5Moscheea Esmahan Sultan(29 reviews) - Small beautiful mosque Points of Interest & Landmarks

4.02 Mai(27 reviews) - My home away from home Beaches • Beach & Pool Clubs
2Mai is such a beautiful place. I have been going there for a very long time now. Over the years I've seen a huge increase in tourists which is helping the locals. The saddest thing is that the tourists are actually ruining it. They come on weekends, play, party whatever it is they do and then leave the place in a mess. They drive like maniacs through the narrow streets that don't have bitumen, dust goes everywhere. The beach is beautiful with a camping and nudist section. If you want peace and quiet there are a huge amount of places to stay without all the hustle and bustle.See more..

4.0Berca Mud Volcanoes(22 reviews) - every time new scenery Geologic Formations
Beautiful place in the heart of the nature: lunar landscape, natural trenches, specific flora and fauna. I never get tired of the scenery. Unfortunately for some years now you can only visit them for a fee, without any further improvements. Do not attempt to visit them in the rainy season. they are not called muddy volcanoes for no reason. And go to both volcanic areas, 2 km away, but totally different landscapes.See more..

4.5Cathedral of Galati(21 reviews) - Easter cathedral uplifting experience! Religious Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
Archdiocesan Cathedral of Galati can be visited by a citizen from outside the Orthodox as a tourist attraction. The building built of stone and Carrara marble, the interior is painted in fresco, starting with 1906, is dedicated to "St. Nicholas and St. Andrew. " The true spirit of Episcopal Cathedral you can find on Easter. When believers gather in front of the building and receive from Archbishop light at Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. People light candles they light passing from one another in the holy silence. Cathedral awash in an ethereal light and lies along the east ecuprins the holiday spirit. I chose to post some pictures from Easter.See more..
The Saint Andrew's Cave is a place where the Apostle lived in Dobruja. There is a church inside the cave and a bigger one outside (where are exposed some Saint's holy relics). The place is very spiritual and isolated and the road to get there is pitoresque. To get there you should enter Ion Corvin village and then you can see a monument of Saint Andrew, follow the road to the monastery.See more..

4.5Celic Dere Monastery(17 reviews) - Lovel Rural Monastery Church Religious Sites
Celic-Dere Monastery is located in a lovely rural setting in a clearing in a wooded area. Founded in 1838-1840, the church was built starting in 1901. To reach the church there is quite a long hill to walk up, but the view from the top is worth it. The interior of the small church is beautifully decorated. To the right of the alter is “The icon that cleans itself” which legend says was brought by a soldier. He told the monks that even though it was blackened, one day it would clean itself, and the eyes of Christ would open. Half of the icon is now light, the other half dark. A note to travellers; If you are looking for a WC this is not the place to consider looking for one.See more..

We visited the site 10 years ago and it was in a deplorable state. What they did as the renovation point of view, is really nice. They still have to work and dig, but the things are going in the right way. Congrats!!! Let's make the history valuable to all of us!See more..

This is the place which you shall not miss if you pass by Braila. You can skate on the ice at an afordable price and you can see the latest movies on 3D or normal. There is a KFC and some good coffe shops where you can surf the net while having an Irish coffee :-) There is Carrefour and ...you cannot miss anything here if you consider that you have in the same location Bricostore, Naturlich etc. A place not to miss if you want to shop or simply you want to bring your kid for ice skating in the middle of the summer.See more..
