In refurbishment - hope it will gain its former glory
After decades of oblivion and degradation the Casino is finally in a refurbishment process. Today is not much that you can see except for the scaffolding and the construction that is going on, however I do hope that it will regain its former glory and once more be the most iconic building of Constanta ... shining as the brightest architectural gem of the city. It you are in the are you can check it out ... but wait till it will be ready ... Until the reopening nothing more to add ... the good thing is that its being refurbished.

GREAT ARHITECTURE
I saw all recent reviews and I have to be agree with them. So, it's true talking about arhitecture, Art Nouveau style, and location. The arhitect is romanian, Daniel Renard, with studies in France. This is a plus for us. Constanta Casino was built between 1904 - 1910. Unfortunately, for the moment is in a bad shape, like almost all the buildings from that old area. Have a nice trip in Kostence, Romania, and think with your soul and look with your heart!

There is hope!
As a former resident who enjoyed exploring the old peninsula area, I am deeply saddened by the general condition of the symbol of Constanta. But there is some hope: Calup (https://www.facebook.com/calupu), a non-profit organization that helped bring to life some old houses in Bucharest is now reopening the Casino for a series of cultural events (1-10 August). They also want to start the reparations, ensuring the building is safe and clean and the degradation is stopped. For this, they launched a crowdsourcing campaign: http://crestemidei.ro/CaziNOU I am happy that people (including me) have the occasion to get involved in the restoration of this old jewel and am looking forward for the 1st of August!
