On the shore of Lake Tăbăcărie, in the north of Constanţa, the Biserica ortodoxă Sfantul Mucenic Mina (Orthodox Church of Holy Martyr Mina) is built in the Maramures style (Northern Romania). Therefore its architecture is not typical of the Dobredja region and at first sight I assumed it to be purely a tourist attraction, representative of another part of Romania. Whilst portraying a much earlier epoch, the church was only constructed in the 1990s. Being just a short distance from the resort of Mamaia this reinforces my suspicion that it was built for touristic purposes. However, I discovered that it is a living and working church with a faithful congregation. It is also a work of art, constructed virtually wholly from wood, charmingly decorated in a rustic style and kept in very good condition. The grounds and out-buildings are delightful too and the church's position on the lake made it an altogether lovely stop on our sightseeing tour.See more..
4.5Cathedral of Galati(21 reviews) - Easter cathedral uplifting experience! Religious Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
Archdiocesan Cathedral of Galati can be visited by a citizen from outside the Orthodox as a tourist attraction. The building built of stone and Carrara marble, the interior is painted in fresco, starting with 1906, is dedicated to "St. Nicholas and St. Andrew. " The true spirit of Episcopal Cathedral you can find on Easter. When believers gather in front of the building and receive from Archbishop light at Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. People light candles they light passing from one another in the holy silence. Cathedral awash in an ethereal light and lies along the east ecuprins the holiday spirit. I chose to post some pictures from Easter.See more..

4.0Roman Catholic Church of Malcoci(1 review) - The church with the most beautiful ceiling Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Churches & Cathedrals
We ended up visiting this church after looking for places to visit near the Danube Delta. Based on the research it looked like there are efforts to revive the site, but currently it's a unique anomaly built buy German settlers in the area, apparently the tallest German church in that part of Romania. It was significantly damaged in the last hundred years or so, so from a structural perspective it's more or less just the foundations and walls. And rounded brick pillars. Those were neat. When we got there, there were a couple tending the grounds and I asked if it was safe to enter. Inside, I couldn't get over the sun shining down upon me within the walls, sort of a surreal effect, so I just sat on the steps to what was once presumably the altar and enjoyed the day. It was a gorgeous day with the trees and flowers in bloom, visible beyond the building shell. For reference, there was no furniture or seats as such, there are quite a few pigeons in the tower, but the ground was pretty well maintained considering. It's worth a boo if you are in the area.See more..
Visited this church briefly. I dont know enough about the iconography to know how special it is but it was a cool, quiet place to sit and contemplate.See more..
