Ciolanu Monastery - meditation and peacefull place
The Ciolanu Monastery is located at 35 Km. West from Buzau County, in the territory of Tisau commune, in a forested hill area. Is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles. Inside are a collection of religious art, an library with precious set of old Romanian books (1500 books in all). Near, is an interesting Stone Sculpture Camp into an verry nice green landscape.

Peaceful place in top of the hill
Biserica Dintr-o Piatra, in translation One Stone Church, is placed in the top of the hill between the villages Fantanele and Varf. The church is built with the stone extracted from the stone quarry situated 50 meters away. It is a new building mixing the new techniques with the traditional orthodox style. The beauty of the place is given by the wonderful view over the huge plain of Baragan on one side and the forests on the other. An old Dacian cemetery is found in the neighborhood with a stone tomb. Few hundred meters away, in the top[ of the same hill there is a sculpture camp.
