My home away from home

2Mai is such a beautiful place. I have been going there for a very long time now. Over the years I've seen a huge increase in tourists which is helping the locals. The saddest thing is that the tourists are actually ruining it. They come on weekends, play, party whatever it is they do and then leave the place in a mess. They drive like maniacs through the narrow streets that don't have bitumen, dust goes everywhere. The beach is beautiful with a camping and nudist section. If you want peace and quiet there are a huge amount of places to stay without all the hustle and bustle.

A very nice places for families
2 Mai, an old fishers village, situated on the southern border of Romania. This village is a charming place for nonconformist families who prefer to spend the vacation in a rural place, without luxury restaurants or hotels. There are few lodges but preferable is to stay to the privates. Don't expect for good food even many people consider the four or five restaurants offer "the best". In the last years, many of them discovered the Bulgarian restaurants... The beach is sure for children and you can let them unattended. 2 Mai has also one of the nice camping from Romania, located right on the beach.

Our stay was wonderful. We stayed at a rooming house and loved it. we were a group of 10 And we would all go back. Nice to stay in Doi Mai and spend the day at Vama Veche which is noisy at night. The beach at Doi Mai was not my favorite. Not a resort town, which I liked. I have been to resorts at the Sea and looking forward to return trip this summer. Nothing beats the bohemian bar Stuf and Ovidiu pouring drinks in the hot summer sun. The place to experience what used to be... although i hear the roads are paved in V V now. For the adventure seekers for sure.
