Fantastic views and exploration of Danube Delta
We had a fantastic stay in Danube Delta! Letea village and forest are definite must-sees! I recommend having the traditional fish dishes in Sulina or Letea. You will for sure receive the freshest fish and enjoy the preserved biosphere. We went in summer time which can be a bit tiresome with high temperatures and humidity level, but we definitely enjoyed it!

Birds, flowers, small water channels and delicious food
This is a place you have to see in your lifetime. It is really like no other, with spectacular water channels, where birds find shelter. Go there early in the morning while birds are still sleeping, take time to stroll across channels, eat in family run business, it is an experience you cannot find anywhere else.

A world of its own
We had a four-day stay in the Delta and I didn't want to leave. It seemed entirely removed from the troubles of the world, and travelling around in a small boat each day was a great way to see a huge variety of lakes and waterways, with all the different plants, trees and birds that live there. We also saw otters, terrapins, and frogs on the many water-lilies, which made the most incredible racket at night. We were also lucky enough to be there and see the mayfly bridal dance one evening. We stayed in Mila 23, which had the feel of a happy place to live, lining one of the Danube waterways and relying on boats for much of their livelihood. Excellent place for birdwatching, although I would recommend a specialist tour for this, as spotting the birds in this habitat seemed to be harder than I have found elsewhere!
