The Danube River Cliff
If you are looking for a wonderful sightseeing and to practice some sport or just to walk around, the Danube River Cliff indeed is a very good place for it. You will enjoy the river scenes, the boats and cargo ships crossing the river from/to the black sea. But remember, Galati is very cold during winter with temperatures at below freezing. Therefore, the best time is during summer and autumn. Enjoy.

A must do when in Galati Romania
The Promenade Danube Cliffs is a walkway built in the 1960s and represents the emphasis on the steel industry in Galati and was a common place that residents of Galati would go to walk along the Danube River to escape the city. The Promenade follows the Danube River from the Port Authority to its point of termination. The cliffs get higher as you walk southwest on the Promenade. The point of termination has a road that allows you to get to the top of the cliffs. If you choose to stop before the end, you will be facing a steep and arduous walk up old sets of stairs (not for the faint of heart or those physically challenged). As you progress down the Promenade you will see many statues erected of steel that are '60s style modern art. The steel industry was one of the main industries of Galati along with the shipbuilding industry. From the Port authority building and along the Promenade you can see both the shipyards and the steel plant. Many vendors and restaurants are along the walk.

Great for a walk
This is a great idea for a walk. If is a sunny day or not always is nice to have this stroll. Also you're notice that the area is not always clean.
