Things to do & places to visit in Bali, Indonesia

Bali cover image
Bali is a living postcard, an Indonesian paradise that feels like a fantasy. Soak up the sun on a stretch of fine white sand, or commune with the tropical creatures as you dive along coral ridges or the colorful wreck of a WWII war ship. On shore, the lush jungle shelters stone temples and mischievous monkeys. The “artistic capital” of Ubud is the perfect place to see a cultural dance performance, take a batik or silver-smithing workshop, or invigorate your mind and body in a yoga class.

Looking for a driver or tour guide in Bali? Look no further. The ratings and reviews speak for themselves—Hire Bali Driver is simply the best. And affordable! With a specific itinerary in mind, I arranged a customized two-day program with Hire Bali Driver for myself and two others. Merta, our tour guide and driver for both days, was just great. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. Those are the first words that come to mind. Merta was always on time and made sure we were comfortable throughout the long drives over the two days we had with him. He listened and kept us informed. All in all, he made sure we were happy and had the best experience. I strongly recommend using Hire Bali Driver and requesting Merta if you need a driver or tour guide for the area. See more..

    Dive Concepts image
This is a review of my trip that I made in Nov 2022. I did 10 dives with Dive Concepts Tulamben, and can fully recommend them. Their dive operations were top-notched, and the dive center and rental gear were in great condition. Arrangements for the diving was easy to be done, and well managed. I was assigned Komang to be my dive guide. He is an experienced dive guide, and knows where and how to find the local unique creatures and critters. There were a couple of dives where before I could finish shooting the video of a creature, he was already signaling me for another creature. Link to the videos of my trip can be found in my bio, or you can just search for Scuba Uncle in YouTube. I would definitely use Dive Concepts Tulamben if I am back in the area for diving. See more..

We went to this spot using a boat package from Grand Watu Dodol, Banyuwangi. The cost was Rp. 2.000.000,- including lunch box. First we visited Menjangan Island, but we didn't explore the island to find deer. We only took picture at the port and on the white sand cape near the port. The view was beautiful. Then we back to the boat to continue the trip to the first snorkeling spot around 5 minutes from port. There are many kind of fish and corals. Then we continue to the second spot, the famous trench. It has different fish and coral compare to the first spot. There was under sea caves here that we can enter and swim in, and get out at the other end of the cave. But you must have long breath. The caves length around 9 m and 16 m. Then we continue the trip and saw a bat cave on the cliff. Before back we saw the Ganesha Temple with the big white elephant sculpture. - Nusa Dua Beach and Waterfront-Solo Traveler
    Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Beaches
    Nusa Dua Beach image
During my solo travels to Bali, I took a day trip to Nusa Dua Beach. This beach is very calm and not full of crazy tourists/party goers. The water is crystal clear and there are many restaurants along the waterfront where you can relax with a Bingtag and watch the soothing ocean waves. During low tied, you can walk really far into the ocean without ever getting your knees wet. Be careful thought, there are lobster caves that emerge as the tied pushes back. You can actually see the fisherman go out and catch the fresh lobster of the day. Before the low tied, I took a dip in the sea and got pricked by a tiny baby lobster. I highly recommend taking the full scenic walk along the waterfront and visiting the peninsula island connected to Nusa Dua Beach. Truly a relaxing and un commercialized beach in the east side of Bali island. See more..
