This is a review of my trip that I made in Nov 2022. I did 10 dives with Dive Concepts Tulamben, and can fully recommend them. Their dive operations were top-notched, and the dive center and rental gear were in great condition. Arrangements for the diving was easy to be done, and well managed. I was assigned Komang to be my dive guide. He is an experienced dive guide, and knows where and how to find the local unique creatures and critters. There were a couple of dives where before I could finish shooting the video of a creature, he was already signaling me for another creature. My partner and I just got our open water certification thanks to the amazing Alexis! He was a wonderful teacher every step of the way. His patience was very helpful with all of the skills needed to pass the course. Especially when taking off the mask and putting it on. He would always tell me to take my time and encourage me to relax. I felt so safe with him during each dive, especially when we went through the washing machine current. He held my partner and I the whole time and I could surrender into the current without panic. He always answered our questions and if we didn’t know something or forgot he would always happily explain it again. I would highly recommend him as a teacher and guide under the water any day! We did two fun dives at the USAT Liberty and the drop wall and we're super super happy and satisfied with everything. Communication beforehand was easy and friendly, the staff and dive guide were super friendly and helpful. The dives were professionally organized, according to our level and we always felt safe and could fully focus on enjoying the view. We were able to spot lots of stuff, e g. Nyoman has built an inspiration business as a local man and has a big dream to ensure everyone who dives with them has an unforgettable experience. What a great experience! This was my first time diving and Geko were awesome in all aspects of making it as good as possible. I did the open water course with my instructor, Made. He was super helpful and a great teacher and helped me progress through each stage with confidence. The dive sites we visited were incredible and an amazing introuduction to the underwater world. Geko were great in accomodating my request to dive at the Liberty shipwreck site further up the coast which I highly recommend and worth the trip. The rest of the staff are also super helpful, Eka was great with the communications in organising my trip and the rest of the shop staff were very helpful and kind. Fantastic dive centre located at Ceningan Resort. Hugely appreciated this option compared to having to choose from one of the many located on Lembongan which cater for quantity (of divers) over quality (of dive experience). Dive staff here are all hugely knowledgeable about the myriad of dive sites to choose from and the equipment is top notch and well-maintained. Diving with these guys we felt completely in safe hands which is hugely important when this area is known for sudden changes in current and conditions. Captain Desi makes excellent decisions about dive sites for the day and timings in order to avoid the crowds. We have nothing but sweet memories with Matahari Tulamben. First time I dive was in 2012. Then I brought my pregnant wife. Second time was 2015, then with my two years daughter. I was able to convince my wife to take open water course. And the instructor. Didik was attentive, patient and helpful to guide my wife to finish her open water certification. The place is nice, serene, and the beach diving is simply amazing. The wreck is out of this world experience. I accompanied my husband taking his Advance Open Water and we both had the best time ever. He was very patient and calm, detailed without being patronizing and very accommodating. I actually learned a lot from him and I got my AOW certification already! Not sure why anyone could fault the way he teach, but I guess to each his own. Amazing diving school. Did my PADI open water course here, our instructor Jink was very patient and always ensured that we are safe and well looked after. The staff in this dive resort are all very friendly and helped us immensely in gaining our diving confidence in our first diving experience. 10/10 would recommend this diving school for anyone coming to Bali. Amazing tribe of divers!! Scuba tribe located really in front of liberty wreck!! Made your dive more awesome!! We had a very nice offer to dive already with accommodation with flow free coffee!! And water refill as much as you want. Not forget to mention a nice hot shower after dive :) We had 3 fun dive and 1 night dive. The night dive is one of the best dive I’ve ever done!! (Well i know my log is not that much but still unbelievably beautiful!!) Komang is our lovely instructor was treating me like princess when we’re going into the water (many stone on the shore due to low tide) Can’t tell how it’s feel when the bump head fish 2 meters Long was crossing under and in front of you. Gade and his team are an absolute pleasure. We cold called them to check things out and were impressed by their professional manner with literally none of the pushy, hard sell you get at other places. The shop is well equipped. The equipment well maintained (Aqualung). The Dive Masters helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and safety conscious. We have undertaken two days diving with them and loved every one. Watching the bumphead parrotfish schooling at USAT Liberty wreck was a highlight. Also saw leaf scorpionfish, lionfish, pygmy seahorses, nudi's, turtles, barracuda, jacks, puffers, eels (many), bundles of sweet lips, surgeonfish and the usual reef critters. Could not fault them. Headed out to three snorkeling spots just after 7am and had the most amazing time. The team is very knowledgeable and makes you feel safe. The water was absolutely gorgeous and clear, and we were able to see many different fish and coral. We even saw mantarays and turtles, and swam close to them. Dived the Liberty wreck located off the shore, 2 minutes walk from the dive shop. I was the only diver with Putu, the owner and divemaster. Equipment was in good shape, no leaks and I was invited to test it before the dive. Air smelt and tasted well and I had no headaches after the dive. Putu's son explained the dive sites in the area well when I visited the shop the first time and other staff were very friendly. Response to email and whatapp messages was swift. Pricing is reasonable. It was a very pleasant dive with nice and professional people :) During the dive Putu respected nature by not touching the corals, not pointing torches endlessly at fish and not getting too close to big fish like the bumpheads.See more..

Widana runs a small, but professional dive centre, that’s very relaxed and takes very good care of you. We did four dives with one of his dive masters, who was very helpful, knew the local dive sites very well and took amazing photos that were included in the price! The dives at Gili Mimpang and at Gili Tepekong were particularly amazing. Widana himself also took our 14 year old daughters for a discover scuba morning, which they loved and felt very safe. I loved staying and diving with ocean sun! The resort is beautiful, rooms are spacious and staff is friendly. Sometimes, the gear is brought to the dive site on scooters, which may cause it to get dirty. Because I brought my own gear, it made me a little uncomfortable to leave gear on the beach for pickup while we left and went back to the hotel (various dive sites are within walking distance). The diving itself was amazing. I'm it normally into wrecks, but the Liberty is beautiful! We also did great muck dives and the guides showed us some amazing macro life! Wie auch bei unserer letzten Balireise haben wir unsere Ausflüge mit Jan Tika gemacht. Er kennt Bali wie seine Westentasche und spricht sehr gut deutsch. Seine Touren sind immer die perfekte Mischung aus Kultur und Natur. Auch erhält man immer Eindrücke vom "echten" Leben auf Bali. Auch alle Fragen werden bestens beantwortet. Gefahren hat uns sein Sohn Putu, der ein sehr guter Autofahrer ist. Auch bei der nächsten Balireise würden wir wieder mit Jan Tika unsere Ausflüge machen und wir würden ihn mittlerweile schon als Freund bezeichnen. Seine Art ist sehr herzlich. Man wird wohl kaum einen besseren Reiseführer auf Bali finden.
