2.0Turtle Island(1.730 reviews) - Please don't support this! Nature & Wildlife Areas
Unfortunately we haven't done enough research before visiting this place. I wouldn't ever visit again ❗ Turtle island is a big cruetly for the animals living there; Many turtles in small and stinky water basins, snakes with tape around their heads, & lots of animals in small and dirty cages! We paid a lot of money - they told us, they use it for the health of the 'sick' animals - but it totally doesn't look like that. Please don't support this place & stay away! and also save your money. First they wanted 90$ for one Person, we got it down to 30$ that was still way to much for this crap. I would rather burn my Money than give it to these bad people again. See more..
4.5Turtle Conservation and Education Centre(1.007 reviews) - Hands on turtle release and education centre Saturday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Nature & Wildlife Areas
What an amazing project. I got a private guided tour and was able to see nests and today's hatchlings. I released 2 of yesterday's hatchlings into the nursery tank for their maiden swim and then sponsored 2 turtles and went on a boat to a beach to release them. This project do brilliant work rehabilitating turtles who have eaten plastic, got tangled in nets and been poached for the black market. I was there about 90 minutes. It's free to get in and around £14 to sponsor a turtle and release it. An absolute joy, I highly recommend for anyone with a love for wildlife ❤See more..

4.5Biorock Pemuteran bali(481 reviews) - Still a way to go but a great idea and worth supporting and its free. Nature & Wildlife Areas
I'm giving this 5 stars cause its free and a real achievement for Bali. I didn't see the entire thing but what I saw was some small outcrops of coral on man made frames and a few tropical fish. We saw this the day after the natural reef and whilst it didn't compare to that it was still time well spent. I imagine it will get better every year. It wasn't polluted the day I went though I believe at some times it is. The locals and tourists alike physically remove plastic from the ocean there and it may be helping. Probably better at low tide but we were mid tide and it was still good.See more..

4.0Bali Elephant Camp(342 reviews) - Nice outing while in Bali Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
We booked this outing online before arriving in Bali and received a nice discount. The driver picked us up from our villa in Seminyak and drove us out to the camp. Upon arrival, we saw elephants walking around with their trainers, one in the water. It seemed to be a very calm and relaxed place. The staff checked us in and offered us a welcome drink and had us sign the required paperwork. The ride on the elephant was about 30-40 minutes. I thought the animals were handled very gently and it was nice that we could ask questions and talk to the trainers about our elephants. Near the end of the ride the elephants wade through water while the staff takes photos, which probably helps them cool down- a nice touch, I thought. At the end of the ride, we had the opportunity to feed them fruit and take pictures. They were then led to their pen to be fed and we went to have our lunch. You could see the elephants and trainers walking around the park from the lunch area. Lunch was actually yummy and was a nice finishing touch to the outing. I see that some posters said they saw mistreatment of the elephants-I did not see that at all. In fact, all of the trainers appeared very gentle and loving toward them. I also liked that the ride was just a gentle stroll through the brush- no shows, tricks or over-prodding of the elephants to entertain us. All in all, I found it to be a nice time. I am sure it would be a great trip for kids, although there weren't any in our group.See more..
4.5The Turtle Project(131 reviews) - Small but worth the visit Saturday: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM Spent < 1 hour Nature & Wildlife Areas
My teenage daughter wanted to check out the work done here so we went. Even though the place was small, we must commend the efforts that the staff have put in to maintain this place. It was educational for my child and I. We learned that they had to buy turtle eggs from fishermen, which would have been eaten or sold. There was a 16 year old turtle there which could not be freed because it was reared by humans since young and only recently given up. As we were there at 11am, we could not help to release a small turtle as they did this only earlier in the morning. However, we find that even though we paid a small visitation fee, we were happy to do so as the money went into helping the conservation and rehabilitation of turtles that had been going on for many years now. 2.5Bakas Adventure Park(59 reviews) - Left with a bad feeling Nature & Wildlife Areas • Zoos
Do yourself a favor and skip this park. When I walked through it, I got the feeling the keepers do not care about the well being of the animals, but more on getting your money from you. The elephants seem overworked, and when we tried to ask about how they are treated, the keepers didn't seem to understand us (or didn't want to). There were a few monkeys there that you could hold, and the staff seemed to treat the monkeys quite harshly, forcing them to pose for photographs, by forcefully turning their heads and grabbing their arms. Just terrible. I wish I had skipped this tour alltogether.See more..

We had a very easy experience communicating with fnp. Once we were on the island we were taking to their center up on a hill. Where we got to meet the cheerful staff and have a look around the facilities. We stayed in the dorm under the meeting building for 6 nights. In the days we did work ranging from tree planting to beach cleaning to bird monitoring. We got the see the rare Bali starling up close and their program seems to be working as their were many chicks around the island. In our free time we were shown around the island and amazing beaches and we also had a guided tour into a deep cave filled with lots of bats scorpion-spiders and even a little red snake (harmless). The staff were very friendly as well and we shared lots of laughs with them. Overall an amazing experience, would definitely recommend! Only complaint would be to install more/better fans in dorm. #ardipartySee more..

The road to the hill is decent until almost at the hill the tar road stopped, it was bumpy af. There is one area to stop to take pictures and chill (attached in my pictures) but that's it. I tried walking further down but the hill view is not as nice. This hill was named Teletubbies because it looks the top of the head of the characters in Teletubbies show, I don't see the resemblance at least not from my eye view, maybe from a drone perspective. At the moment there is no entrance fee. You can sit there and enjoy the breeze.See more..
