I was staying in Tulamben (female and travelling alone) and wanted to explore a few sights in the east of the island. When I contacted over 10 drivers Gede was the only one with a normal price and also suggested additional sights on the route while the other drivers didnt even want to do the full tour i had suggested. Did this tour a few weeks ago with Wayan as our tour guide. What a fab day we had. Wayan was a very friendly tour guide, he went above and beyond to make sure we had a great day, taking lots of great pictures through the day, holding our bags for us and holding our hands to help us down the steep steps to the waterfall. I did a solo sunrise summit hike with Wayan, and the whole experience was amazing good. Wayan is funny, caring. it started raining at 2am, and lasted for a couple hours, Wayan managed to put up a tent to keep us from the rain, and made hot coffee and teas for me to cheer me up. He literally got everything you need in his bag. Another great thing about Wayan is that he's extremely good with pacing, making sure I don't get too tired as well as we summited just the right time before the sunrise to avoid waiting in the cold for long (it is freezing up there). Amazing tribe of divers!! Scuba tribe located really in front of liberty wreck!! Made your dive more awesome!! We had a very nice offer to dive already with accommodation with flow free coffee!! And water refill as much as you want. Not forget to mention a nice hot shower after dive :) We had 3 fun dive and 1 night dive. The night dive is one of the best dive I’ve ever done!! (Well i know my log is not that much but still unbelievably beautiful!!) Komang is our lovely instructor was treating me like princess when we’re going into the water (many stone on the shore due to low tide) Can’t tell how it’s feel when the bump head fish 2 meters Long was crossing under and in front of you. Suli is amazing, funny and knowledgeable guid. He told as so much about culture, traditions, daily life and places were we traveled. We spent two days with him, first was traditional Ubud tour, second day we went to personalized tour - Safari and to Ubud center. From the moment we landed in Bali, Suant was in contact with us. As we walked out of the airport, he was there to greet us and help us get everything to the car. We had arrived pretty late and ended up having some issues checking in to our rental. He didn't have to, but helped us out and also stayed with us until everything got situated (this was around midnight). Suant was very punctual and stayed in constant contact with us during our trip. Unfortunately, most of them gave slow responses to communicate with me, except padangbaibooking.com I strongly recommend this online travel company, with their super simple website and affordable price. Pak Jojon is simply the best! If you are looking for a honest driver and a very experienced tourguide, go with Jojon. He is not only a very safe and responsible driver but most important, he knows everything about the Balinese culture and is speaking excellent English. So you are not ending in one of the cheap, overcrowded tourist traps with him, instead he shows you the most beautiful places of the real Bali. And he can organize everything for you. We went with him on a local market in the early morning, where we were the only tourists and have seen the most beautiful waterfalls and wonderful secret spots in the mountains - you can’t barely find these places in google. And all that for a very reasonable price - and - I am german - he showed up always in time - which is not very common in Bali. ;-) He even has a bus for bigger groups if needed. I hadn't been in the sea for over 10 years and was pretty petrified of going in the water. Yudhi was super kind, very informative, took things slow and made me feel safe. I moved from a beginner soft board to a hard board the next day and progressively got braver as the boards got smaller! I now go out on my own or with friends and absolutely love it. Ketut is pretty good guide. Nice and very helpfull, he knows a lot about the nature and animals. I was searching for a trip to the West Bali National Park just for one person and he gave me the best offer. We took a local boat, did some snorkeling on a nice reef and then a short trekking to his village. Perfect day trip I was looking for. The nature in the national park is stunning and I only regret I didnt have more time to go deeper to the park. I want to go back to Bali with some friends maybe next year so we definitely gonna do a longer treks and sleep in the tent. For sure I will ask Ketut again ;)See more..

Besakih is known as Mother of All Temples, with lots of ancient temples and architecture to be appreciated. There is an entrance fee to get in with a temple guide leading you and explaining to you about the area. However be super cautious when others in the temple offers help - especially to take picture using their mirror lense. We thanked the guy and we tipped him. Well, have some small change in your pocket and not let them see the amount of cash in your wallet. He asked for a tip of usd6 for each of us! for that 5 mins service. That was the first ridiculous ripoff! Second was that the so called temple guide brought us to another temple area and there was so called local priestest there. He suggested even if you are not local you can ask for her blessings without any mentioned on 'donation'. After the experience, he suggested that we should 'donate' at least Idr 1 million. The most ridiculous part was that both of them mentioned donation has to be sincere but they later demanded a minimum. The guide even asked us to go to ATM! Enough said - the ministry of tourism indonesia need to look into this. Super felt like a tourist trap and such holy place tainted by greedy locals. If there is a charge for service or experience have it up front. We reckon Lempuyang is a better place for picture ..honest locals.See more..
