  2. 4.0 Satria Coffee Plantation (1.087 reviews)
    - Great coffee experience!
    Farms
    Satria Coffee Plantation image
This place is a gem. The grounds were lush and green and so well maintained. Everything was labeled so you knew why you were looking at and so healthy and vibrant. The coffee processing was amazing and we got to get in there and play around with roasting and grinding in the giant mortar and pestle. The hosts were great and they had a flight of coffee and tea that was free. The only one that was 50,000 rupias was the kopi luwak. Of course we tried it. It was very rich and a little grainy. But overall good. Great gift shop as well and we were able to see the animal that the coffee comes from. Great place! A must see! See more..

  4. 4.5 Ubud Kajeng Rice Fields Walk (665 reviews)
    - Favourite area in Ubud

Ubud Kajeng Rice Fields Walk image
We do this walk since 10 years, and regret the continuous building in the ricefields. But it still remains our favourite place in Ubud, as there is always a breeze, and you can do such a lovely walk there. Some write the path stops, but that is not true, you can walk from Jl. Kajeng (or better you start at the right sight of Puri Museum Lukisan) and then all the way to a small bridge, there you turn left, and then you come back along Cafe Pomegranate. Some parts have steep egdes, but it is really lovely. This year we stayed at Sweet Orange Pondok for 4 nights, an absolute gem in this area, it's a warung but also a small boutique hotel. Just go there, it's lovely! See more..

Side By Side Organic Farm image
It's hard to put to word our experience at Side by Side. Ketut was absolutely lovely throughout, teaching my partner and I about their invaluable work in the community. He was friendly, knowledgable, took all the time in the world for us.. he and his sister-in-law made some seriously delicious meals. The dinner banquet there is to die for. The place is incredibly grounding. So serene as the light fades and you get surrounded by this cocoon of forest sounds punctuated with the pin-pricks of firefly light. Blissful. Absolutely blissful. Buana Amertha Sari (BAS) image
My family loved this coffee tasting stop as part of the GreenBike Cycling Tour As you sit atop a lush valley, with amazing photo ops, the sampling tray of coffee is expansive and served with a pancake stack which was simply perfect. For around 60,000 IDR (less than $AUD 6) I highly recommend you order a Luwak Coffee here. They set up the brewing in front of you and whilst the coffee is not anything special (like a long black), the experience itself is priceless. The setting was amazing and lush and the decor was perfect for an open restaurant feel above a rainforest. The coffee shop was a bit expensive though, certainly cheaper purchases are found elsewhere, but the experience there is amazing. See more..

    Oka Agro Wisata image
We visited this coffee plantation where they keep civets in cages and let them eat on coffee beans. The pits of the bean which is the coffee, are passed through the digestive tract of the civet and then collected by workers, cleaned, and roasted. It was amazing to watch the entire process done by the workers. We tasted some of the coffee and it wasn't too bad. We even bought a small bag of it which cost $35.00 USA. See more..

Honeybee Farm & Luwak Coffee Agrotourism image
The people there are friendly and shared much information about bees, honey, and coffee while they took us around on a 20-minute tour of the place. Following that there was free tasting of some of their products, including honey, coffees, and teas. The luwak coffee was however chargeable, but there was no pressure to opt for that. We did give it a try though, and it was alright for the price. At the end of the tour we were brough to a shop where they sell their products. The items were generally expensive, but again, there was no pressure to purchase. We only bought three items, but they were still friendly after. The location is a little remote though, so it is abit of a drive to get there. See more..
