Ubud Kajeng Rice Fields Walk, Bali, Indonesia

Favourite area in Ubud

We do this walk since 10 years, and regret the continuous building in the ricefields. But it still remains our favourite place in Ubud, as there is always a breeze, and you can do such a lovely walk there. Some write the path stops, but that is not true, you can walk from Jl. Kajeng (or better you start at the right sight of Puri Museum Lukisan) and then all the way to a small bridge, there you turn left, and then you come back along Cafe Pomegranate. Some parts have steep egdes, but it is really lovely. This year we stayed at Sweet Orange Pondok for 4 nights, an absolute gem in this area, it's a warung but also a small boutique hotel. Just go there, it's lovely!

    Much better than Tegalalang
Although more and more constructions seem to impact those ricefields, walking through them is still a nice and peaceful experience. I highly recommend the Kajeng rice fields and avoid Tegalalang ... ... for more spectacular and untouched rice fields, head to the northern parts of Bali (Munduk area).
