I came away from our tour with mixed reviews. No doubt that the architecture is fascinating and worth going just for that. The contribution of 12,000 is mandatory and it is an expensive taxi ride to get there (just so you know). Our guide,who was a Balinese "scholarship" recent graduate was quite egotistical and she was our only representative since school was on holiday break. If she is representing the values taught in the school then much is missing from the quality of education and values taught. She spent way too much time saying how "awesome" she was and showing off her "cool" hand signs. Many schools around the world have creative and progressive education with philosophy grounded in cutting edge educational reform. Our guide acted like they are the one and only, and according to the guide they are not aligned with anyone else. Too bad only 8% are Balinese and the $14,000/year price tag clearly makes it unaffordable for most. Too bad the school is in a village where the tuition is multiples more of what a family in that village makes in a year. The elitist feeling left an uncomfortable impression all around. And yet the architecture and classroom materials all out of 'natural' materials were beautiful. See more..

After spending almost 6 months on Bali and having experienced already quite a lot I went on a trip with friends to the Bali national park. And I can say without doubt it was one of the most memorable experiences of my time here. Susila is awesome, always giving his best of making everyone feel comfortable, while explaining a lot about his culture to everyone interested, taking the best pictures for memories and just beeing an awesome company for Bali adventures. From the moment we landed in Bali, Suant was in contact with us. As we walked out of the airport, he was there to greet us and help us get everything to the car. We had arrived pretty late and ended up having some issues checking in to our rental. He didn't have to, but helped us out and also stayed with us until everything got situated (this was around midnight). Suant was very punctual and stayed in constant contact with us during our trip. He always arrived early / on time and was able to adapt to changes in our itinerary. He was very friendly and kept us entertained with a lot of local historical info. I'm just back from a 3 days cruises in the Komodo National Park. It was amazing ! The boat of the company, the Sea Villa, is typical, clean and really comfortable. The staff is really friendly and the food delicious. Our guide, mister Tobias speaks a perfect french and explained us a lot of things. They care about trying to find unique place, where no one goes. We did some snorkeling tour, trekking to see the Komodo dragons, we saw the soaring of the flying foxes at sunset... This cruise was definitely one of my best experience in my life.
