    Ubud Traditional Art Market image
Ubud Traditional Art Market is one of Bali’s best markets, selling a variety of authentic and artisanal goods by the locals. You'll be able to find unique silk scarves, handmade crockery, and woven bags—perfect as a souvenir of Bali to bring home to your loved ones. Head to the market’s east for a more traditional Indonesian experience, where you’ll find locals buying fresh produce and groceries. If you want to learn more about the market and Balinese crafts, be sure to join a local market tour which typically includes other top Bali attractions. – Tripadvisor See more..

Went to this market based on trip advisor reviews, it was exactly as we expected. Small with roughly about 15 eateries. We chose to try a few different smaller bites. Satay chicken was yummy but a 40 minute wait to order and we were the 1st in line, all the locals get fed 1st they don’t wait in line and they just keep turning up. There was also very little chicken on each skewer, 10 skewers per serve for $1.50. We also went to the fried food stall with spring rolls fried banana, fried beans donuts etc got 17pieces for $1.70 an absolute bargain and also all delicious, especially the fried coconut donut...omg. I also got the fresh juice of banana and dragon, also absolutely delicious . All up dinner cost for both of us $8.80 which included all the above plus a Bintang. My husband and I both left feeling so full. Simple no fuss and delicious. If we were staying longer we would definitely eat here every night. See more..

Was amazing! 6 lobsters,1.6 kg of King prawns and a red snapper for 600,000. The tip is get your driver and as my partner is from Bali get the fish. They get local prices. I stayed in the car. Then we went to a restaurant and they cooked it any way you want for 400,000 with sides and drinks. See more..

We passed by on way to Ulun Danu temples and bought strawberries, soursop, passion fruits and sapodillas. They were delicious and reasonable in price after we made a little bargaining. The vendors were friendly too and let us try them before we bought! The market has gone a lot quieter these days but I think it is still a nice place to browse and learnt about local fruits and spices etc as it is not as smelly and "wet" as local market . The vendors can speak English as well which is a plus for tourists ! See more..

I recently spent an hour or two in the fabric market in Klungkung. It has been there for many years, but rebuilt since my last visit over 20 years ago. It is still mind-blowing. In my last visit to Bali I went to Jalan Sulawesi, the fabric market in Denpasar, but this market is soooo much better, particularly if you are looking for traditional fabrics rather than western-style fabrics. There are also some shops carrying a large range of items that the Balinese use for their religious practice. I couldn't resist a couple of those things too. Artists and craftspeople should not miss this market. I can't wait to go back and take a friend. See more..
  6. 3.0 Bedugul Market (25 reviews)
    - Worth a quick look

Depends what you are after... There are some stalls selling fruit and veg but, for the most part, it's all about tourist tat. Wooden toys and souvenirs, cheap clothes and bags of spice. Everything has to be bargained for (because, apparently, that's what tourists want) so expect to spend 5 minutes arguing about the price of a 2 dollar toy. While we were there, the only locals we saw were the stallholders and drivers - everyone else was a tourist. On the plus side - there's an ATM, a cafe and plant shop at the back that's well worth a look (even though you can't bring anything back). If you want to see a more authentic local market head 10 minutes along the road to Baturiti See more..

  8. 4.5 Baturiti Market (6 reviews)
    - Authentic local market

A great antidote to the tourist markets that tend to be included on tours. When we stopped to visit we were the only foreigners in the market. It's not particularly pretty, in fact it's downright grubby in places but it is the real thing - food produced by locals for locals. It's worth going with a guide as very few of the stallholders speak English although all were very happy to talk about their produce without any pressure or expectation of a sale. One word of warning - be careful of the dogs. Our guide was bitten and had to drop by a local clinic for shots. See more..
