    Thoroughly worth it!
Without a doubt the best day of the holiday. I was dubious as seeing all of the negative comments regarding animal welfare & the use of ‘hooks’. I was fully prepared to see the mahouts use force to get the elephants to perform on cue but I saw none of it. You can really see the bond between elephant and Mahout! The only way they get the elephants to ‘perform’ (trunk up/keep still etc) was for the reward of food. You could tell T he elephants loved it! With regards to the ‘hook’, the mahouts carry it for absolute emergency situations. After all the animals can kill humans in an instant. I did not see one being used at all (and I was looking out for it). We rode an elephant and the mahout has been with the elephant for 28 years and came to Bali from Sumatra with it. You could see the bond they have. I did notice the seat was different from the other countries, you could tell it was much more lightweight than my previous encounters in other parts of the world. The bathe was the best experience- totally worth it!

    Family friendly at a cost
An immaculate park with great positive attitudes from the staff. It's pristine. We thoroughly enjoyed our elephant ride. The only negative is the prices. Prices for children were rediclious. We travelled with a 2 year old and a 7 month year old which costed ($32 EACH) For your own info March 2020 with elephant ride. Infant under 5yrs $32 Child 5-12yrs $82 Adult $108 Bali zoo $71 for the whole family with no elephant ride.
