Glamping in the most beautiful place on Earth
This place was paradise for me! I traveled through Bali solo and made a friend at my stop right before this one. She and I wanted to climb Mt. Batur but did NOT want a long drive and crazy early wake up call so we decided to stay right at the base of the mountain and I wish I could have spent the rest of my trip here! Camong and his wife have created a truly Balinese experience that I haven’t seen anywhere else and I feel so fortunate to have been there. The camp is right on Lake Batur. You stay in awesome ‘tents’ that are really raised A-frame huts, complete with electricity, lights and WiFi! The showers are water from the hot spring next door, the food is literally fish that Camong floats out into the lake and catches for you right then and there!!!! You can swim or boat in the lake (clean and soooo refreshing), and Camong with arrange any excursions for you- hiking the mountain (ask for Sidi- he was awesome) or going to the hot springs, or the village nearby. The views are so beautiful, it made me cry!!! Be aware: this place is not a hotel or luxury location. It is camping but next level. There are 2 beverage options: beer or water. Breakfast is scrambled eggs on toast. It is rustic and tricky to find. You’ll have to carry your luggage (or they will help you) the last little bit and at first it feels like you might be just wandering into the jungle! But pretty soon you see the huts and you’ll know you’re in the right place. Only other downside: lots of flies - like I said, it’s camping.

    Unique experience
Great place to stay if you want to escape the tourists or are planning to do the Mt Batur hike. Teepees are quite spacious inside - comfy double mattress and space for your personal belongings too. Towel is provided. The staff is very friendly and tries to help you where they can. They organised a complimentary transfer to and from the spring pools and arranged the Sunrise hike. My only issue was the noise. Partly coming from the water pumps around (although after a while it became a background noise). Also, at the times the music was played very loudly around the campsite. I understand that it could be helpful to create some sort of a lively atmosphere but it's not fun if you have had just 3 hours sleep, intensive hike in the morning and all you are looking for is a good nap. However, the staff did turn it down when I asked them. Thank you! Overall, very lovely and unique experience.
