A friend and I went to Jemaja for 4 days, coming from Singapore. It's really a hidden gem that has beautiful nature (uninhabited islands, blue waters, corals, beach, jungle, etc) but without the mass tourism! Locals are warm, especially kids are always happy to say hello and take pictures. It also means the infrastructure is not there yet, so you can't expect any luxurious stay or very settled activities and food options. For example, we did an island hoping tour on a tiny fisherman boat, which was part of the fun too :) Locals are not yet very familiar with Western tourism standards so you sometimes need to be patient and relaxed since "10 am at place A" generally ends up "11am at place B". If you're staying around the Pantai Padang Melang area, know that it is a bit remote from Letung and car rides are quite expensive on Jemaja (~20 usd per trip per car) so I would recommend you to rent a motorbike to move around, it's much cheaper and more convenient. The roads are generally quite empty so it's not too stressful as well (roads can be bumpy but it's manageable). There is no 3G near Pantai Padang Melang and the neighborhood wifi is VERY wonky too (took me ~20 min to send a whatsapp message). Because we were there during Hari Raya (Eid), there weren’t many places open to eat around so we ended up eating in Letung most of the time (only a 10 - 15min ride away). Overall a very good trip. Our main highlight was the island hoping tour and driving around the island in scooter. The islands around Jemaja are like uninhabited paradise with jungle and crystal blue waters. kalau kalian pernah ke bali dan mengujungi uluwatu, yapp tepat sekali. daerah ini sekilas mirip sama indahnya dengan uluwatu. suguhan pantai nan panjang dan juga hamparan laut yg jernih dan langit biru bak surga, namun akses kesini harus menempuh perjalanan 12 jam dari Ranai, dilanjutkan dengan naik motor karena akses jalan yg masih perlu di perbaiki untuk mobil. Pagi hari banyak aktivitas para nelayan yg pulang ke daratan dan sunset di sore hari disini indah sekali.

The place wasn't that big but we manage to get about 70 photos worth of humor. The staff were so supportive and approachable. After you are done with one shot, they will standby on the next one and show you hoe to pose. I find them very friendly and funny. Even though I find that some of the mural don't look real enough, the staff makes the RP80k worthwhile. Without their help, we would be clueless and without their cuteness, we would not have had fun taking photos in that big hall. My wife and I (as part of our hotel tour) took a boat over to this enchanting little island. Although we weren't sure at first, we managed to barter down with the longboat owner and thought it would be worth it. When we landed, we jumped on a motorbike side car and toured the island this way - it was great fun. The brick winding roads took us around the island to see different cemeteries, an old municipal building, a fantastic view point and some Buddhist temples. The Front is the Tua Pek Kong temple, it is in a traditional South China building with a central courtyard and a main deity praying halls.
