Nusa Dua Beach and Waterfront-Solo Traveler

During my solo travels to Bali, I took a day trip to Nusa Dua Beach. This beach is very calm and not full of crazy tourists/party goers. The water is crystal clear and there are many restaurants along the waterfront where you can relax with a Bingtag and watch the soothing ocean waves. During low tied, you can walk really far into the ocean without ever getting your knees wet. Be careful thought, there are lobster caves that emerge as the tied pushes back. You can actually see the fisherman go out and catch the fresh lobster of the day. Before the low tied, I took a dip in the sea and got pricked by a tiny baby lobster. I highly recommend taking the full scenic walk along the waterfront and visiting the peninsula island connected to Nusa Dua Beach. Truly a relaxing and un commercialized beach in the east side of Bali island.

    Loved this beach!
This was our favourite beach in Bali. WE stayed here for 7 days and loved every second of it. You can find beach massage there, water sports, jet ski rental, just avoid 5* beach bars, way too expensive. We rather choose small local places to eat and drink. Great beach!

Overpriced water sports and poor treatment of animals at turtle sanctuary
This is my first ever review of anything. However, I feel I should let people have some insights of Nusa Dua before they travel there. Ok, the beach isn’t the cleanest but to be honest it was better than I expected. Some plastic caught up in seaweed. There was lots of water sports activities and although we had fun as a family, the rides were overpriced. About 1.5m R for family of 4 for each activity. What was tue most shocking was the turtle “sanctuary” or whatever they are calling it. Firstly the water sports people charge an extortionate amount to go there. I found out after it is actually free. So we paid a lot of money for a quick boat ride. Secondly, not sure if the turtles and other animals in cages and chained up were actually being treated well. I think it may just be a con to get gullible tourists cash. While at the turtle place they they are constantly pressuring you into providing “donations”… basically begging for money. Shocking, please avoid!
