We have been to Siargao a lot of times and it was our first time to visit this place. It was raining cats and dogs in GL and it was very bright and sunny in Del Carmen. We went there after lunch on a weekday which was a good decision. Only a few boats and people were there. We were the last ones to leave. We had the whole place all to ourselves. We absolutely loved our time paddling the serene waters of the lagoon. We spend our weekend here at this beautiful lake, we stayed at nice place so peaceful and quiet. There's no electricity which makes the place even better. At night the stars was so clear and you can hear the crickets that sings, lots of fireflies flying through the big trees and the bright moon that left his reflection at the lake. Dr . Alfonso, (owner where u can rent a room) was very accomodating and nice, his staff as well very nice and helpful! He really love this place and took care of it and as we can see that this place has a soul. Mount Apo is surrounded by mountain ranges and it is actually declared as a preserved area. On the way, the view was relaxing and it's great to know that people have kept the lushness of flora around the tallest mountain in our country. There you could see the boiling lake as featured by those who visited the place. It was 50-100 meters away from the resort. People are not allowed to swim there because of the high temperature of the water. Since Mount Apo is a dormant volcano, it is expected that one or two hot springs are present within the vicinity. Lake Agco is one of them. And of course we just stayed on the immersible pools and had fun with the sauna bathrooms. Long I had wished to explore the place again never mind the sulfur! Had fun with the family! Just a tip, It's better to go on week days since there are lesser visitors. So you don't need to rub elbows with strangers. We went yesterday 02/02/2020, The orientation personnel told us that It was a perfect time to visit because the Laswit/Splash is showing already. The laswit is seasonal depending on the weather, the direction of the wind for the waves, etc. The waves are perfect! some are big, and at times are small, only to cause a waterfall effect on the rocks. It was very fun, we waited for the big waves to make the big splash and if you are in the water, the color of the splash from your point of view is just magnificent! When in Don Carlos, Bukidnon it is a must to see this lake. This is the town emblem and rightfully so. Not so big with only 28 hectares water coverage but the surrounding shores is much wider. I think it is a protected habitat by the town and it does offer a very nice stroll. You can either walk, bike or use a 4x4, or even a car to circumvate the lake. I always found it easier to use the car and make a few stops in between to take photos. Has always been my favourite place to visit every time i visit my hometown. 5.0Kalaja River(1 review) - The natural way to climb Mount Apo following the rivers via Tampakan Bodies of Water Mount Matutum is easy to find from the DOLE Department of Labour and Economics Philippine Government plantation where local PNP (Philippine National Police) will register you and ensure you have good security cover (Helicopters etc) if needed in case you get stuck in a rut or loose your compass. It is best to follow the natural rivers so you will never get lost. Do not trust google as it sends you on a pointless road trip! You will need good hiking shoes and a luggage trolley with rough, durable wheels and a spare tyre as well. It is a fantastic trek and you will never forget this one.
