Its better if you have Private Car atleast 4x4 if you dont want to pay for 80php per head, and or ATV's are Available for rent from LGU, ask additional Information from Tourism Office, its about 2 hours travel from Poblacion to Salacafe - Receiving area you can hike or for awesome experience try to ride a horse to the last final approach, Coffee is the best, and packers is also available for heavy loads, Organic tilipia is also for sale up in the lake for 50php (4-5pcs) take time to walk enjoy the nature so that you can see flying squirrels, monkeys, birds of prey and etc. take note respect the nature, you can also order your foods from receiving to be delivered in the lake. only on designated cooking station you are allowed to cook, no using of soaps within the lake, Toilet is available, Kayaks are for rent, ask a tour to hot sulfur outlet. If you want extra challenge from Tourism office ask if u want to take Kule trail enroute to the camping sight, along the way to the lake a hot sulfur pool awaits! Just amazing.
The place is quite hard to get to. From T'boli alone, you need to ride a risky motorcycle for an hour to reach the starting point of the hike. That ride was already exciting enough, especially if you guys decide to do it with three people on one motorcycle, plus the driver. I definitely think it was not completely safe. Once you reach the starting point, hikers will have an orientation on what to expect and what not to do. The hike is 4 hours long, more or less, depending on which trail you take. But once you reach the viewing deck, especially in Kule trail, it will take your breath away. The lake itself is soooo beautiful. The water in the lake is clean and fresh and just amazing. The fresh tilapias and local coffee are super delicious. And the locals really make an effort to keep the camping area and the trail clean. LEAVE NO WASTE BEHIND, please! The effort and the time it took to get here were worth it.
