The natural way to climb Mount Apo following the rivers via Tampakan
Mount Matutum is easy to find from the DOLE Department of Labour and Economics Philippine Government plantation where local PNP (Philippine National Police) will register you and ensure you have good security cover (Helicopters etc) if needed in case you get stuck in a rut or loose your compass. It is best to follow the natural rivers so you will never get lost. Do not trust google as it sends you on a pointless road trip! You will need good hiking shoes and a luggage trolley with rough, durable wheels and a spare tyre as well. It is a fantastic trek and you will never forget this one. Be the first to follow me on this epic journey of a lifetime! You will need about a week to complete the trek and you will need good camping equipment and a local guide is best if you don't speak Tagalog or Arabic that well.
