General Santos City (GenSan) is the Tuna Capital of the Philippines. Every year they have a week long wonderful festival celebrating local culture and pride. There are many different food concessions with delicious foods (The fish and bbq dishes were amazing!) and other kinds of concessions. too. The parade floats were beautiful; the festival theme song is a catchy tune and the local singers were top shelf. All the local people were beaming with pride. As an American, I felt very welcome and safe! Filipinos in general are very polite and respectful. That's a big change from NYC where I come from. There were so many police patrolling this event. They entire family will enjoy and come hungry! See more..
