Was pleasantly surprised at the size of the zoo for a small town zoo. The park is laid out over a decent area, and there are some uphill walks. They have a decent variety of animals, and the entry fee of $11 is very reasonable. Worth checking out if you are in Evansville with time to fill. We were there for about 2 hours and walked the entire property. It only costs 2 dollars to buy lettuce from staff to feed the giraffes, $2 for feed the birds, and the $5 to feed a fish to a penguin. Nice interactive experiences. See more..

The butterfly garden was closed, so we almost didn't go, but this zoo was great. The petting zoo with the goats was fun. Seeing a live eagle close up was really cool. Didn't know they look like they're wearing fancy pants. The wallaby walk-about was super neat. I wish I'd have heard the singing dogs sing. My son did some research on them afterwards and they have an interesting story. Great visit. See more..

As a kid we were at this park playing ball, taking swimming lessons, roller skating and even using playground equipment. We recently took our grand kids here for a few hours at the park. They really enjoyed it. We started at the playground. The kids ran from one piece of equipment to the next. Even the old barrel that was there years is still there. The caboose that is there is still a hit with our grandkids. The aviary was not open to walk through but it was still viewable as we walked around the outside. We saw tortoise and many amazing birds. The zoo had lemurs, deer, goats, chickens, ducks, peacoks, donkeys, and a cow. There was a seperate area that had a small fox (sad for the fox-too small space and no activity). Overall this is a very nice city park. One of the best in the area. See more..
