4.5The Village at Winona(67 reviews) - A Hidden Gem Spent 1-2 hours Speciality & Gift Shops • Art Galleries
There are so many quaint shops to visit, and all the people we talked to at the shops were friendly and helpful. The Village wasn't very crowded due to the cold, but it was still pleasant to walk along the lake and through the shops. I imagine it's even a more delightful area to visit when the weather is nice, so if you want to visit without crowds, go during the off-season.See more..
4.5The Brown County Art Guild(29 reviews) - Two Floor Gallery with Beautiful Paintings Wednesday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Art Galleries
This is a gem of a gallery which was the highlight of my trip to Brown County. 4.5Artists' Own(26 reviews) - Always something interesting Wednesday: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality & Gift Shops • Art Galleries • Points of Interest & Landmarks
Welcome to the Artists’ Own Gallery. Artists’ Own is an artist cooperative with members from the Lafayette, Indiana area. They work in a wide variety of mediums including painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, furniture, pottery, fiber, glass, drawing and much more. Find the perfect artwork to compliment your home or office décor and shop for gifts throughout the year. About Artists’ Own In 1999, a group of local artists pursued a dream of creating a unique shop with the goal of bringing art together to share with Lafayette. It would be a venue where they could display their work and offer it for sale to the community. The work had to be of the highest quality and hand made by local artists. The result of this dream was the Artists’ Own Gallery. The gallery opened in 2000 on 3rd Street facing the Courthouse Square. The community embraced the opportunity to see and own great artwork. The success of the business led to relocating the gallery in 2002 to our present, larger locationSee more..
This large space always has several simultaneous fine exhibitions to visit. On a recent visit I saw a superb painting exhibition devoted to the Indiana Dunes. A century or more ago, the great dunes of northern Indiana were the place for plein air painting in the Midwest. The paintings in the show are every bit as good as French plein air paintings not done by the few great masters of the genre. See more..
On the way back from Hard Truth distillery we stopped and visited this attraction. It is primarily local artist - with painting being the main stay. Some of painting are for sale and range from couple of $100 to one from a famous artist being $28,000. Primarily those for sale were landscapes and still life's. They highlighted some of the famous local artist and their wares - one being Bird illustrator, a Portraitist and Street scene. We enjoyed it even though wife wouldn't let me get the $28,000 painting. She said it would fit with our decor.See more..

If you love sculpture gardens and beautiful hilly forested settings this sculpture garden is just for you. With over 100 outdoor pieces whimsically spread over many acres of southern Indiana forest this is a fabulous 2-3 hr walk. Bring sturdy shoes. There is some up and down but nothing strenuous. The sculpture is mostly rusted metal, steel, some wood, occasional ceramics. The colors are muted; it would have been fun to see more splashes of color but other than that, a real delight. It is one of the larger and more unusual sculpture gardens that we have visited. The setting is so gorgeous and some of the trees are equally as interesting as the human-made contributions.See more..

5.0Board & Brush(5 reviews) - A Fun Place to Celebration a Bride to Be!! Spent 2-3 hours Art Galleries
This is actually my 3rd time going to Board & Brush and I have not been disappointed yet! We were there for my friend Lorin’s “Last Fling before the Ring” Bachelorette Party. I love how they have so many different projects to choose from! When you register (you must register for a Board & Brush class), you pick your project and pay. When you arrive, they have all your materials neatly organized for you. The ladies that run the class are super knowledgeable and very helpful! They teach you how to sand, stain, build, and then paint your chosen project. While working, you are also treated to snacks and wine slushies (there is pop & water for those who would rather have that). Board & Brush makes sure that everyone leaves with a beautiful creation! This is definitely a fun activity to do with coworkers, friends, or even family. I highly recommend you give them a try!See more..
After a disappointing trip to find a Sears store (turned out to be a Home Store that only carries lawn mowers and appliances), we wandered the streets of Corydon looking for fun and found ourselves entering the Artisan Center on a cold, rainy Saturday afternoon. We were warmly greeted and our host spoke to us about various pieces of artwork and the artists who made them. My favorite was a beautiful bowl or vase, depending on you want to use it, or just stands as a display piece on its own. It is made out of colored pencils. To look at the bottom, it looks like the top of a box of unsharpened colored pencils, so many of them. Just beautiful and just the tip of the iceberg of beautiful works. Wander Indiana and take a trip to Corydon.See more..

This is a family-run gallery that showcases the work of both the Spears family and other artists. I love to learn the story behind the art, so luckily the matriarch of the family was running the store that day. We chatted at length about the different artists she showcases and I was pleased to learn that they are all local to the Brown County area. We ended up buying some of her son's photography (Kyle Spears has a great eye!) for ourselves as well as gifts for others. I will absolutely be back to this amazing place to see what new treasures are available!See more..
