    - A Great Course
    Golf Courses
    Glendarin Hills Golf Club image
For this early in the season, the greens were very fast and the course was in very good condition. The par 3s are the least difficult holes on the course. Some of the interesting holes are #3, #5 (great), #10, #11, #15 and #18. The tee boxes at #18 are slightly elevated…with a view of the fairway. This hole plays 620 yards from the back. The GPS system on the cart was consistently accurate…from the tee boxes and along the fairways to the greens. The battery powered cart was clean, appeared newer, and had a smooth ride. There are paved cart paths along the fairways. The rates were about average…for a course of this quality. Staff members in the pro shop and bar area provided great customer service. See more..
  5. 4.0 The Donald Ross Course at French Lick (29 reviews)
    - Tough

The Donald Ross Course at French Lick image
This classic course designed by iconic architect Donald Ross, underwent a $5 million restoration. When the project was completed, 80 of Ross’ trademark bunkers with flat bottoms and deep, gnarly faces were once again in place along with expanded, square or rectangular shaped greens that severely undulate. Thirty-five of these bunkers are original to the course that Ross constructed in 1917. The course is a par 70 and plays to 7,000 yards. The Donald Ross course has been rated #2 public in Indiana 2008-2016 by Golf Week and was among the 100 greatest through 2015. See more..

Very unique links-style course in Central Indiana. You won't find any course with similar style near Indianapolis area. This course has uphills and downhills, blind spots, fast greens. You can choose to play safe or risky, either way you will have fun. It is usually windy here which makes the course more challenging. I live 30 minutes away from the course but I feel like this is going to be my home course next year. I forgot to say one thing, you will lost your ball if you miss the fairway. See more..

A great wait staff directed by Miss Leila herself. Full dinners available Friday and Saturday from 4:30ish to whenever. Prime rib is the star of the show. Different seafood specials weekly from Mahi Mahi , walleye, bluegill, frog legs, and occasionally a Smelt fry. Sandwiches are also outstanding. A very simple menu with small town pricing. I recommend early Sat for best and quickest service. They get pretty busy on Fridays. Come out and enjoy the outstanding food with a great view. See more..

  23. 3.5 Cross Creek Golf Club (8 reviews)
    - Good Small Town Golf Course
    Golf Courses
    Cross Creek Golf Club image
Have had the opportunity to play Cross Creek several times this Spring. The course is in very good shape. The grass is full and lush after a mild winter. At this time of year, the course is moist (not wet) proving good lies, especially in the fairways. However, the roll common to many Indiana course in mid-summer is not yet in play. In other words, play the yardage without expecting and "extra" bounce and roll. Seems that course management has "loosened" up the course a bit since last year. What I mean is the several fairways have been widened, at the expense of reducing the amount of rough. Further, the "collar" areas around many greens is likewise wider. What does this mean? The course is more forgiving for average or starter golfers, allowing them to have better lies in a variety of locations. In turn, better ball positions and fewer restricted / difficult lies contributes to better scoring. Nothing like a forgiving course, allowing better scoring, to encourage less proficient golfers to play more. Do not misinterpret, trouble is still available to be found in the form of trees, shrubs, ponds, creeks, bunkers, out of bounds and the longer grass of the rough. The course is a par 72 with two par 3s and two par 5s on each side. The front (older nine) is the more forgiving. Holes 12 through 15 wind through the Cross Creek subdivision, necessitating a bit more accuracy, especially on the tee shot. However, all golfers will find varying levels of ease and challenge provided across the eighteen holes. I would definitely success giving Cross Creek a chance. I am confident you will have a fun outing. See more..
  24. 4.0 Cedar Creek Golf Club (8 reviews)
    - Last Days Of A Wonderful Tract
    Golf Courses
Sadly, rumor has it that 2018 is the last year for Cedar Creek Golf. The course was founded in 1965. Make a point to play this wonderful course, before it is turned into a housing addition. Creek Creek has a large parking area, giant practice green, and driving range. Their clubhouse (main level) holds a pro shop, although not large, it but has essentials (balls, tees, gloves, clothing, etcetera). The lower level has a snack area and a full bar. This is a challenging design, winding through tree lined fairways, across creeks. over ponds and around sand traps. The tees, fairways and greens were in excellent shape when we played. The greens are large, full on undulations and fast - in other words fun. I am glad we made the drive to play this course again before it is no longer. If you have a chance, do play. I do not believe you will regret it. See more..

    Fall Creek Golf Club image
Our group had been here over a year ago. Had fun the first time, as we love golf and each other's company. However, I (for one) left many good shots in the bag the first time. I wanted a chance to improve on last year's round. The course was in good shape. They have an 18-hole layout, featuring mature trees and generous fairways, located in a peaceful setting. The course has some interesting rolling hills, small greens and is location next to the Pendleton Reformatory. I like the up and down hill challenge of some of the holes. The greens are challenging but generally fair. I do think the par five sixth green offers a special challenge dependent on pin placement and your approach shot. Regardless the low 90s sunny day, the golf was great fun when we played. Think we need to play this course again down the road. Cowboys Bar and Grill, right at the course, is just a couple dozen yards from the club house and has a couple nice bars and a full food menu. See more..

Eel River is a country golf course with a country feel and personality. But don't let that fool you. It has plenty of challenges. The staff is friendly and professional which means a lot in this day and age. Management is continually improving the physical part of the course to keep it in top shape. That has included water management, drainage, turf, the trees (trimmed pine trees to make it easier to find lost balls and make the game go faster, and improved several of the greens and tees. Nice pro shop and snack bar area with ample seating. There is a large room for group get togethers. Great time at a fair price. See more..
  33. 3.5 Timbergate Golf Course (6 reviews)
    - Challenging Links-style
    Golf Courses
    Timbergate Golf Course image
The price of a round at Timbergate is very reasonable. The carts are electric and work well. You could walk the course rather easily, as it is flat, and the holes aren't all that far apart. This course looks to be fairly new. The fairways are a little narrow, and your errant drives will end up in some rough that gave me fits early on. The greens are in great shape for the most part, very receptive for your approach shots. Some of the patrons could do a better job fixing their ball marks. Most of the bunkers are grass, though there are some fairway bunkers that look to be quite penalizing. I don't really think any of the water hazards come into play. The pro shop is very nice, and though I didn't have time to enjoy it, the bar and grill sounded popular. See more..

This course has a fun layout especially the back 9. I like how it is secluded with minimal houses on the course. Wildlife seen for sure. A moderately challenging course, with medium-wide fairways, and well-maintained greens. Greens fees are reasonable, and tee times are fairly easy to get scheduled when you want. This course suffers greatly, when there are severe floods, but with drainage improvements that have been made over the years, they're able to make it playable, in a relatively quick manner. Old capital was in my top ten courses within 2 hours from my house. but the last visit kicked it out, purchased Groupon package for $70.00 for two players said good Monday - Friday, we had a tee time at 10:10. went to check in and they would not except the Groupon certificate saying it had to be used after 11: am, so after some arguing they accepted it but charged use another $25.00. when we teed off, we found they had just over seeded the greens so you could not put, they had not blown any leaves off the course so spent much wasted time hunting balls and they was patching course cart paths had to play around machinery on many holes. I understand the maintains to the course, but they could let you know.
