3 Star Places To Visit in Wyoming, United States (31)
3.5Devils Tower Trading Post(179 reviews) - Good Place to Stop After Visiting Devil's Tower Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Speciality & Gift Shops
After a disappointing visit to the inside the park gift shop at Devil's Tower (limited inventory with high prices), we decided to visit Devil's Tower Trading Post. It had a wide variety of items (including more alien themed items) and more reasonable prices. There was an ice-cream shop inside the post as well. There is a fairly large parking lot to accommodate most vehicles even if pulling something. The staff was very friendly. The Post offers some additional scenic views of Devil's Tower and photo opportunities.See more..

This geologic formation is so easy to visit. It's right on US Route 26 a few miles west of Casper WY. There is a parking area and the canyon is fenced off with a tall chain link fence. However there are places where you can slip through the fence to get a closer look. There was once motel and restaurant there years ago, but they are long gone now. There are no attendants around. It only take a little while to see so if you're on that road stop by!See more..

3.5Seminoe State Park(7 reviews) - Camping here is not for everyone State Parks • Parks
We camped at South Red Hills. Since the campground was limited to reservations from Wyoming residents, it definitely limited the number of people camping there. This factor may color my review. The site itself was fairly undeveloped: pit toilets, no electricity, few trees, several sites with pavilions. There were a few surprises: a playground and a boat launch which seemed to be getting used. There were also quiet hours from 10PM to 6AM, which were observed. I did not see a store anywhere nearby, so make sure you have what you need or do without. The wind can definitely be a factor here, so do consider that. I definitely would not say it's the best place I've camped as there didn't seem to be any pleasant hiking near, but it could be just the place if you have a boat.See more..
3.5Shoshone Tribal Cultural Center(5 reviews) - Closed Spent < 1 hour Speciality Museums • History Museums I really wanted to visit, but it was closed for the summer. Evidently the center is in the school library and is only open when the school is open. Too bad, donations and volunteers could probably make this a wonderful center!See more..
3.5Owl Creek Graphics(5 reviews) - Barney was a hit! Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops
We were just out seeing what Thermopolis had to offer and walked in a met Barney the baby St Barnard. The grandchildren loved him as well as the rest of us. My husband asked them to embroider the Wyoming Bucking horse on his jacket and 20 minutes later it was done and was at a very nominal fee! See more..
3.5Jim Bridger Club(4 reviews) - Good place for a beer Bars & Clubs
A nice small-town bar. A dive bar in the best sense of it--cheap, nice, down-to-earth people. I think thru had 3 pool tables. See more..
Travels through Wyoming conjure up images of cowboys, tight jeans and beer. It was a surprise to know that wine is produced in the Cowboy State. I accidentally came upon the Weston Wineries tasting room at 122 North Main Street in Sheridan. I say accidentally because the website only shows a PO box and a Laramie address. The tasting room is worth a stop. The wines are tasty and there are many possibilities for uniquely Wyoming gifts. Fans of the Longmire TV series or of Craig Johnson's western mysteries have a number of keepsakes to choose from as do rodeo fans (Scott LeDoux and King Ropes) as well as those who cannot forget "Close Encounters"....yes there is a 307 Devil's Tower label.See more..
3.0Saratoga Lake(4 reviews) - Great camping location Bodies of Water • Beaches • Nature & Wildlife Areas
We camped in our truck for two nights. Our camp spot was next to the lake and very quiet. This location is close to town but far enough away to feel somewhat remote. There are several campsites with electrical hook ups. We enjoyed watching several types of water birds.See more..

3.5Lions Park Dog Park(3 reviews) - Your pooch needs a fun spot too... Friday: 5:00 AM - 10:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Parks There are a few dog parks in Sheridan and this is one that is very clean and keep up.....if you can call a dog park grass clean...lol. I don't think you'd find me sitting on the grass and eating a sandwich but still a good spot for fido to stretch their legs. Most if not all the other dog's have been very well behaved. Lol.. I've even seen a cat on a leash before there. It takes all kinds to make this world go around. Enjoy See more..
We have all rock climbed in the gym before, but never vertically climbed a real live rock, so we enlisted the help of Andy at Tower Guides. Andy was so great to work with – his calm demeanor and proper safety equipment had me at ease as we began our hike up Devils Tower Monument. One by one we tucked our fingers into the crevices and balanced our toes on the ledges and made our way toward the top. The adrenaline high was insane!See more..
3.5Indian Bathtubs Trail(2 reviews) - Intriguing Trail Hiking Trails This is a rather short trail that loops and which you can find right before you get into Riverside/Encampment, located off of Hwy. 230 from Blackhall Rd. This is a diverse trail which included shrubland full of sagebrush and Rubber Rabbitbrush/Chamisa (which was in full bloom, quite pretty, and getting my allergies worked up), a creek, and lots of boulders. I've read in other sites that this is mountain lion and rattlesnake territory, so be alert. There are a couple of benches to rest which overlooks some scenic views. The Indian Baths themselves are not well marked but are located to the right of an informational sign. Also, they do need to be climbed on to get to, but are quite fascinating. There was very little water in them at this time of year.See more..

3.0Parco/Sinclair Museum(2 reviews) - Small local museum; some memorabilia from Sinclair Oil Corp Spent < 1 hour History Museums
The Parco/Sinclair museum is in a single room attached the the town offices (and police station) in the tiny town of Sinclair Wyoming. This is a small museum about the town and associated oil refinery; it also includes a small amount of petroliana from Sinclair Oil Corp itself - however it is not an official company museum, but instead administered by the Carbon County Museum. The displays show some of the personalities involved, as well as other artefacts dating from the 1930s, when the town was established, to date. It's worth a short stop as it's not far off I-80, especially if you are interested in the history of US oil refining. The nearby Parco Hotel is architecturally interesting, having originally been built by the oil company in the 1930s. The town was also initially named Parco, as it was where Producers And Refiners COmpany had their oil refinery; some years after PARCO was acquired by Sinclair Oil Corp, the town's name was also changed from Parco to Sinclair.See more..

3.0Elk Mountain Museum(1 review) - Local History only Spent < 1 hour Speciality Museums We arrived too early in the afternoon for our stay at the Elk Mountain Hotel and decided to have a drive and a walk around the town. The little town is just that, a little town. It did have some historic markers and a local history museum which was closed. As we were looking in the window, a person came up to us on a 4 wheeler and asked us if we'd like to see the museum. It turned out that his wife was the curator and he called her and 5 minutes later they opened the museum just for us. The exhibits focused on life in the area, life during WWII, the big bands brought in by the hotel. The most impressive thing was the pride the townspeople had in the area. Truthfully, the exhibits were not dramatic but faithfully presented a picture of life in the area over many years.See more..
3.0Wrangler Skate Park(1 review) - A great find for a small town Spent < 1 hour Game & Entertainment Centers
First off, kudos to Pinedale for this park. It's not often that a small western town has a skate park, and this one, while small, is well designed and a nice feature. However... While it's typically not very crowded, it can be a little overwhelming for younger skaters. The skate crowd is intimidating to preteen kids, and some of the behavior is unacceptable. While it's safe, I would suggest being there with younger kids, and monitoring the older ones while at this park.See more..
3.0Rifle Pit Hill(1 review) - Hey, this is a great place to take a break! Points of Interest & Landmarks
What’s the matter, been on the road from the Black Hills heading for Denver or Cheyenne and need a little break? This is a great spot to learn about the Oregon Trail and the Mormon Trail. Here is where they dug pits to protect the iron ore pits and the settlers heading west. It’s an easy pull off. Near here you can also see the actual ruts of the Oregon Trail and where the settlers carved the names of their home towns into the rocks (not at this site, but nearby). We have driven through Wyoming several times in the last few years and missed so much of that history; especially if you are a city person or traveling with a family you are always worried about “getting stuck out here.” Here is a quick spot to stretch your legs right on the way!See more..
