    - Educational & Enjoyable
    Friday: Natural History Museums
Natural History Museum - Western Wyoming Community College image
It was a spontaneous decision to check out this museum and very glad I did! Stan, the assistant at the Weidner Wildlife portion of the exhibit was very knowledgeable about the area, the exhibit, and even had personal knowledge of Roger Weidner having known him for 30 years. Stan was a wealth of information. The exhibits throughout kept me there for a few hours, but no problem because I grabbed a bite to eat at the T-Rex Grill too. See more..

The Bighorn Basin GeoScience Center is dedicated to the study of the Basin’s natural resources and to the promotion of geoscience and local historical and educational activities. We offer exhibits and educational materials for educators, geoscientists, tourists and the people of Wyoming. The Big Horn Basin Geoscience Center recently opened the Museum of Ancient Life in downtown Greybull to house and display some of our fossils and reproductions in the context of the environment that was prevalent in the time frame the animals existed. The museum features a 40 foot mural depicting the landscape, flora, and fauna of the Bighorn Basin of Wyoming as we understand it was about 150 million years ago. Stop by to enjoy our displays and learn more about the geological and paleontological history of our area. See more..

  6. 1.5 T-Rex Natural History Museum (3 reviews)
    - Rock Shop, Small Museum, and Knowledgeable Caretaker
Spent < 1 hour Natural History Museums
This is a small place, mainly went there as my son has an interest in dinosaurs. You are greeted by the caretaker/dinosaur expert/paleontologist/petrologist/rock guy. He opens the shop and the front includes rocks, gems, fossils, and dinosaur item replicas (like claws or teeth). We then brought into the back room where a life size head of the "Sue" T-Rex is at. There are some model dinosaur replicas with information typically seen at other museums and other information. As a fun thing, he allows you to take your photo with the Dino head. He is knowledgeable of things and as you look at things he also tells you about it. The place was just at the end of town when heading west from the main road. See more..
