5.0Yellowstone National Park(1.746 reviews) - Absolutely stunning and huge Spent More than 3 hours National Parks
You will need a couple of days to be able to travel to North, South, East and West of the Park. The distances are huge. We visited mid September and it was possible to do this in 2 days as the traffic was not too bad but it was busier on the weekend. Queues build up unexpectedly when people spot an animal and then park up on the road instead of in the lay-bys and there is no way of getting past them. We arrived from Cody to the East and it is quite a long journey before you even get to the park entrance. We bought a America Beautiful pass which covers you for all the national parks for a year and means that you can join a different queue at the entry point - available online by post or on entry to some of the parks. Day one we did the East and North and then day two we did the West and South of the park. My favourite part was the grand prismatic spring. Bring your own food and eat in designated picnic areas as there are not many places to buy food - but plenty of loos! A wonderful experience.See more..
This in an outstanding facility for orienting oneself to geyserland. To many visitors Yellowstone is a famous place of spectacle. But a half hour here will help newcomers understand why they’re seeing the things they are. It gets jammed with people post eruption, please be patient with the limitations of staff. But the displays here to help you plan what other geysers and springs to see along with helpful information from rangers will open up the park to being much more than imagined. See more..
4.5Fort Laramie National Historic Site(465 reviews) - Great place to visit for the entire family. Friday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Historic Sites • National Parks
This is a great National Park to visit. It's very interactive and educational. They have done a wonderful job preserving a piece of history. There are many "ruins" yet also many maintained and furnished buildings to explore. The kids had a great time and even earned their ranger badges. Stop at the "bar" on the way out for a root beer or cream soda. They also have cannon firing demonstrations at certain times of the day/week.See more..

You are greeted with fascinating time line on the way to the visitors center that puts into perspective the changes in the earth. The Visitor is really what you are here for with a film and many incredible fossils on display. The actual Butte is quite a long walk in high dessert environment. There is a nice picnic area. We lucky enough to encounter a shepherd and herd of sheep.See more..
Wow! Beautiful scenery! This tour is fabulous! The boat trip through the canyon is so worth it if you have the time. We drove in from Cody in about an hour. The colors are just beautiful. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Saw lots of Big Horn sheep scaling the side of the canyon walls. Dont overlook this gem!See more..
4.5String Lake(132 reviews) - Swimmin' Hole! Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water • National Parks • Hiking Trails
I feel like String Lake is one of the better kept secrets of Grand Teton, and it's possibly because it's parking and access is limited, so make sure to arrive early. The lake is 10ft deep at it's deepest point, so it is absolutely perfect for swimming in crystal clear water that you can see all the way to the bottom. Do be aware of wildlife in the area, we say a moose, a bear and a snake while here. There are lots of people so no real need to be worried about potential danger, but just be aware and make sure your kids are too. The beach access here is very limited, so like I said arrive early and claim your spot. Also, make sure to bring a kayak or paddle-board to fully enjoy String. It's a magical lake and one that we could've spent longer at if we had the time. I highly recommend it.See more..
