  1. 5.0 Lamar Valley (3.058 reviews)
    - The Bison are in Charge
    Scenic Drives
    Lamar Valley image
I was captivated from the moment we came upon the herds and herds of buffalo. We were amused when the FedEx driver had to wait for a group of bison to cross the road and the bulls knew just the right sounds to get the calves moving. It was fascinating to watch the interaction among the herd. This part of the park is completely different from others and the vast immensity of the grasslands is stunning. We also saw pronghorn sheep as we drove to the east entrance for lunch. There were many trails along the way that we enjoyed exploring including Slough Creek which is known for fly fishing and Hellroaring Creek Trail that takes you to a suspension bridge over the Yellowstone River. (We walked about a mile past the suspension bridge and did not see or find anything of great significance.) This is a hike that takes you down to the bridge and the hike back to the parking lot is uphill so be sure to bring enough water. See more..

    - A Good Decision Out of So Many Possibilities.

Wet and trying to dry out our clothes after getting soaked through walking back from Morning Glory, we opted to take this drive, and it was well worth it. Up close small geysers bubbling away and clear blue water. The Firehole Lake with steam rising and a boardwalk to view it up close. Steam was so prevalent there, it was like taking a sauna or a facial laced with a hint of sulphur. See more..

    - Must Do If you are in Grand Teton

    42-mile Scenic Loop Drive image
If you don't feel like hiking any of the trails in Grand Teton NP, the 42 mile Scenic Loop Drive is the best option. We started the drive at 7 am on a Sunday (8/30) at Mormon Row for the best lighting for photography. We made stops at Schwabacher Landing, Cunningham Cabin, Oxbow Bend, Jackson Lake Dam, Signal Mountain and various turnout points. We took our time at each place and finished in about 4 hours. We started in Buffalo and drove to Ten Sleep. It was a beautiful drive with many pullouts so you can get better views. We took several hours for the round trip but we stopped a number of times and even hiked part of one of the trails. Ten Sleep has a well-stocked convenience store where you pick up supplies if you need to. There were also several restaurants and bars. See more..

    Snowy Range Scenic Byway image
My husband and I were RVing as was another couple we know. We all met in Laramie for a few days and decided to drive the Snowy Range Scenic Byway. It was more scenic than any of us could have imagined. It's approximately at 70 mi drive from Centennial, WY to Saratoga, WY on the Byway -- all of it is gorgeous. Libby Flats, the highest point, is over 10,000 ft. Mirror Lake was picturesque. We saw some wildlife as well as lots of snowy patches and snowy mountains along the way. A beautiful, relaxing ride. 11. 4.5 Happy Jack Road (139 reviews)
    - Views are beautiful - allow time for the spontaneous stop

    Happy Jack Road image
I've read reviews of this road that downplayed its value as a place to visit, so I was curious to see for myself. And I must say, driving between Cheyenne and Laramie on this road was one of the most beautiful parts of our trip. The scenery is gorgeous prairie (notwithstanding a patch of modern windmills, which is brief) and rock formations that are a feast for the eyes. We got sidetracked by a drive through the beautiful Curt Gowdy state park (which is RIGHT off the road, and has a very helpful park ranger) and at another site simply because it was so beautiful we couldn't help stopping to ogle a bit. This country is worth seeing. See more..
  12. 4.5 Pilot Butte Wild Horse Scenic Loop (114 reviews)
    - Stunning views,horses were okay too :)

Definitely would recommend! This is a beautiful drive, lots of scenic vistas. We did see some horses but the views made the drive worth it. It’s a very rocky start from Rock Springs but it levels out about halfway through. We took our Ford Escape but saw people with sedans and that would be fine. If you have dry weather, four-wheel-drive is not necessary... it’s just a really rough ride. See more..
  13. 5.0 Skyline Scenic Drive (87 reviews)
    - Super Scenic
    Scenic Drives
    Skyline Scenic Drive image
This is a must do drive that takes you up over 9000’ to a spectacular view of the Wind River Range. Stop just short of the Elkhart Lake parking area for the best viewpoint. Plenty of pullouts, with optional stops along the way at beautiful lakes. Take your time, the road is in good condition, just don’t take your eyes off the road too often! See more..
  14. 4.5 U.S. Route 191 (69 reviews)
    - Beauty and the Beast
    Scenic Drives
    U.S. Route 191 image
Without a doubt, US 191 between Jackson and Pinedale, Wyoming is one of the most beautiful and picturesque drives in the country. Complete with mountains, plains, forests, rivers, wildlife and clear blue skies, this stretch of highway is clearly one of the best of the best. But, it also has a dark side of which travelers should be made aware. Us 191 near Pinedale, WY is a speed trap of the worst kind. A renegade cop is pulling people over and arresting them on trumped up charges and is being given a free pass by the local judges. This Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper is also very disrespectful and unprofessional. His unethical and illegal behavior gives all law enforcement agencies a bad rap and is certainly part of the reason the majority of Americans neither trust nor respect police officers. Forewarned is forearmed. See more..
