My dad and I visited Jackson in May and booked a day trip with JH Fly Fishing School. The team at JH Fly Fishing School explained to us beforehand that we were coming during runoff season and that fishing conditions would be tough. We decided to give it a go anyway and we were so happy we did! As promised our guide Jimmy was determined to find us good fishing spots and was very knowledgeable of the river and taught us so much during our trip. We were both pleasantly surprised when we each caught multiple fish despite the conditions! Our family of 5 had a fantastic time on our 1/2 day fly fishing trip with Gill and Bill from Wind River Flyfitter in Dubois WY. They set us up with all the gear needed and took great care of us providing water and assistance as needed to be safe on the river. We all had different skill levels and they took ample time with each of us to get us comfortable on the river. We celebrated our anniversary learning how to fly fish on the Snake River with Jason. He is a such good, easy-going teacher, a skillful boatman, with an exceptional knowledge of the Snake. Jason worked hard for my wife and I. He even spotted two bull moose & bald eagles. But the best part was watching my wife hook and pull in 4 or 5 cutthroat trout. Three weeks later she is still telling our friends about the amazing experience on the river. Me and my two teenage girls came to Wyoming for an amazing trip with Feathered Hook and we weren't disappointed. The cabins where beautiful and clean. Just what you'd want in a cabin with all the furnishings. Our favorite was the Deadmans Ranch cabin nestled in the mountains. The Spring Creek cabin was just as beautiful and closer to town. Our guide Erik Floyd was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable in the art of fly fishing and a great teacher. He was kind and patient with us being our first time fishing. Feathered Hook is a very professional and reputable fly fishing company and I would recommend it to anybody looking for a great adventure or a relaxing mountain getaway. This was my first time fly fishing. My husband loves it and has always dreamed of fishing the Big Horn River. We had the best time! It was windy and cold but we were prepared with wearing layers. Analese, not sure if I spelled her name right, she was great. She taught me all kinds of stuff about fly fishing. She would paddle back several times through an area where we were getting bites or catching fish. She had a wonderful lunch and snacks for us. She even took the time for us to watch a mink hunting on the river bank. Would highly recommend them as guides!See more..
5.0Savery Creek Fishing(1 review) - Great private Water Trout Fly Fishing Experience! Fishing Charters & Tours This was my second trip to Savery Creek to trout fish on private water. I had a blast each time. The first time was 2 years ago and this last time was September 13,2018. Savery is in Southern Wyoming about 2 hours drive from Steamboat Colorado and offers a unique fishing opportunity. The creek is full of trout with some 18 inches plus in size. There are rainbows and browns. This year I even caught a Tiger Trout. I fished dry flies the entire day and the fishing was terrific! The actual property is a 30 minute or so ride from Savery. You meet the guide in Savery and ride in his truck to the Creek since the roads between Savery and the property are gravel and some require fording the creek. The area is remote and I loved just the feeling of getting out into this remote area of Wyoming. I have fished with two guides there. Both were great and had me onto fish all day! I highly recommend this fishing experience.See more..
We visited DuBois on days 8 and 9 of our out West Yellowstone trip. We wanted somthing to do on a hot day that didn't require a ton of hiking. I called on a Sunday morning at 9 and they arranged for a guide to come in and take our family of 4 out for the noon float. It was just our family and our guide took us down the Wind River giving us some historical information along the way. Our kids were able to swim and we had a wonderful time on our trip!
