  1. 5.0 Kirwin Ghost Town (16 reviews)
    - Awesome Day Trip

    Kirwin Ghost Town image
Kirwin is rich in history. This is an incredible day-trip. Read up on it before you go. YouTube has some WYOPBS videos that you should see before going. This is a 4WD or UTV/ATV trip. It is not a difficult trip if you know anything about off road touring. One caution is the first hill after the USFS campground is a booger if it is wet. If coming down, stay in the ditch or you'll have a bad experience. If you plan to hike during this trip, take along a sidearm and bear spray. Although not bad, the trip may not be for the faint of heart. It is truly a destination if you are in the Meeteetse area. IF you are a "greenhorn", let someone know that you are going and when you expect to return. Disabled and elderly friendly if you are a "passenger" and stay with the 4WD. Not to be missed. See more..
  2. 4.5 Piedmont Charcoal Kilns (2 reviews)
    - Interesting spot
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Ghost Towns
Interesting history here. It includes kilns that were used to make charcoal and the ghost town of Piedmont. It was freezing cold with deep snow when we were there. It would be more meaningful in decent weather. There is a small cemetery, the 3 kilns, a railroad station and several other buildings. See more..
