  1. 5.0 Nomad Adventure (178 reviews)
    - My Teenagers love it !
Adrenaline & Extreme Tours • Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks • Eco Tours • Hiking & Camping Tours • Day Trips
    Nomad Adventure image
Myself and three teenagers 14,15 and 16 years old did a 2 hour cave exploration with experienced guide Moose. It was truly amazing to be in total pitch blackness inside the cave when you turn off all your flashlights and headlights. The most interesting part of the trip has to be white water rafting for my kids. We felt totally safe under the guidance of Moose although it was a first for all of us. We will be back certainly with Nomad to try water abseiling. Thank you again ! See more..

Very experience guide and ensure safety first. Guide Mat Bagan went great lengths during rafting for maximum fun. Water rose to class 4 level but guide took all necessary precautions. We also became rescue boat to others. Highly recommended for Radak! Tip: you can rent rubber shoes for RM3 per pair. Wear that, it helps. See more..

River Explorer White Water Rafting image
The overall white water rafting experience is wonderful. Mr Samson explained the instructions to us in detailed before we start our session. Mr Nano is our river guide and he is truly amazing! He is very strong to pedal and navigate the boat without us doing any pedalling jobs. He is very agile and responded very fast to pull out one of us who dropped into the water. We like the arrangement where Mr Samson kayak in his own canoe and tag along with our boat to be our lifeguard. Of course, we appreciate that Mr Samson took lots of pictures and videos for us. The overall logistics was well arranged. Thank you for providing us a memorable rafting trip, River Explorer! See more..

Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple and Zen Gardens image
Best to go see this on a weekday morning so it is not so crowded. Beautiful cave with Buddhist statues that you walk right through to a beautiful pond and well kept gardens. Not many stairs. Can rent a paddle boat 12 r for two people for 30 minutes. Bit of fun, but can't go far before you have to turn around. Allow an hour for total visit. Shame about the huge concrete factory behind that has taken away half the mountain and spoiled the view. See more..

  10. 4.5 Ubudiah Mosque (92 reviews)
    - Beautiful in Gold
    Historic Sites
    Ubudiah Mosque image
Considered one of the most beautiful mosques in Malaysia, it was also designed by the same designer who designed the Ipoh Railway Station and also the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station. Construction of this beautiful mosque was completed in 1917. What we feel makes this mosque unique is the contrast of the mosque with its golden domes and Italian marble against the blue sky especially on a sunny day like the day we visited. Parking is aplenty with an open carpark directly in front of the mosque. Our full review is on instagram (@monk3yseendo) See more..

Perak Cave Temple is located around 15 minutes ride from downtown Ipoh. The natural cave is the temple itself with statues and wall paintings of Buddha and Bodhisattvas. Therefore, the temple earns the name of "Dunhuang in the South". Following the passage of the cave, it will lead you to the apex of the hill where you can enjoy the views around. A peaceful and culture-rich religious site to visit. Recommend it. See more..

    Gua Tempurung image
My husband and I visited this place on the weekend morning around 9.30 am. We chose the Tour 2,which takes you approximately an hour or so to walk around the cave. Tour 2 is the dry tour. Suitable for all age. It is not a guided tour (you do not need one), it is more walk around at your own pace. For this tour 2, you able to visit 5 platforms. Tour 1 is only 3 platforms and you will missed the special wind tunnel at platform 4 if you go for tour 1. The counter lady explained well to us on the difference between tour 1 and 2, polite and soft spoken lady. Overall, some stairs climbing included but not too tough as you can do it on your own pace. 19. 4.0 Ipoh Heritage Walk (185 reviews)
    - A great day out in Ipoh!
Spent 1-2 hours Scenic Walking Areas
    Ipoh Heritage Walk image
Ipoh is a fascinating, sprawling city with surprises round every corner. We visited the Old Town district, where there is no better way to get a feel of the city’s colonial heritage than by following the famous Heritage Trail. Depending on what you choose to do, the trail can last from a couple of hours to an entire day. From classic colonial architecture, to chic bistros and shops, to a historic multi-story car park to an old opium den, there really is something for everyone! After mid-morning it can get very hot, but there are many places along the route where visitors can stop to enjoy a coffee or explore the local cuisine. To follow the trail, we used the smartphone app produced by Ipoh City Council. This app is excellent. It contains just enough interesting historical information about each attraction, and is very easy to navigate. See more..

    - leaning tower of pisa, malaysia edition
Monday: 10:30 AM - 9:30 PM Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks
Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan image
the tower is the icon for teluk intan town. according to the museum description inside the tower, the tower leans to the side because it used to carry a water tank at the top, and the weight of the water made the building tilt over the years entry fee is 2 myr and you can climb the tower till the middle part (3rd/4th floor) but not all the way to the top. not sure is it a permanent or temporary closure. dont forget to check out the night view of this tower. i think it looks better than during the day after being illuminated. 22. 4.0 Bukit Merah Orang Utan Island Foundation (143 reviews)
    - Incredible
    Islands
Bukit Merah Orang Utan Island Foundation image
A truly amazing place, we travelled from Penang just to see the Orang Utangs and it was a 2 hour journey each way but totally worth it. Only small groups allowed on the island for an hour each time but that's ok and it's so the animals aren't stressed. The staff were very knowledgeable about the animals and were happy to answer questions. There was a small cafe and a small gift shop which were both empty when we went. This place gets little or no funding from anywhere we were told, the entrance fee is included with the 10 minute ferry ride to the island and was very cheap at 80 ringgets for 2 adults. We wanted to give a donation but there were no collection boxes and staff couldn't take money from us. If you get the chance, GO! See more..

    - A must see when in Sitiawan!
    Religious Sites
    Tua Pek Kong Temple image
This is a great way to spend a morning in Sitiawan. The temple is tucked away in a magnificent spot next to the ocean. On arrival, you are greeted by large stone statues that tower over the site. The temple is beautiful inside and has many areas to explore. There are fountains, statues and a beautiful garden. There are toilets, plenty of parking, gift shops and even a coffee shop. It gets very hot during the day, so be sure to bring a hat and sunscreen if visiting around midday! We have visited a number of times and have enjoyed it every time! See more..
  25. 4.0 Taiping War Cemetery (105 reviews)
    - Historical
    Cemeteries
    Taiping War Cemetery image
Taiping War Cemetery was created by the Army after the defeat of Japan for the reception of graves brought from the battlefields, from numerous temporary burial grounds, and from village and other civil cemeteries where permanent maintenance would not be possible. There are separate entrances to the two parts, the plots of Christian graves lying on the south-eastern side of the road and the Muslim and Gurkha graves on the opposite side. In the Muslim and Gurkha section the Stone of Remembrance stands in front of a high bank which forms the north-western boundary. The two small shelters in the cemetery have been constructed of local stone, and a low stone wall flanks the road on each side. See more..

  27. 4.0 Lata Iskandar (87 reviews)
    - Lata Iskandar
    Waterfalls
    Lata Iskandar image
While its a beautiful spot for picnic etc but with mass tourism come all kind of long term problems that ruin the pristine beauty of nature. Being on the side of the main road means that there is no way of avoiding it and It has become kind of unofficial tourist attraction and a must stopping point towards or from Cameron Highlands. The side effects are littering, rubbish left behind, damage to forest and polluted water. Taking a dip to cool off is one thing but to leave your dirty foot marks is not cool. See more..
  28. 4.0 Bukit Larut (86 reviews)
    - Was a great hike up
Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Bukit Larut image
Wonderful experience. Went in with my parents and sister. My bro in law is an OKU patient, according to Web, there are jeep service so planned for 1 for my brother in law but sad, all the jeeps was out of service and we had to hike up. Do he couldn't do, he sat by the entrance. The rest with my parents hiked up though, very nice walk. The guard told us it will be 10km to complete the whole track, but we just planned to walk as far as could only. Fun along the way. Tiring but with the family chat, it was a happy hike. Had water source before the 1st pit stop, so refreshing.. thank you for that. Gave us a boost. Probably it took 1hr+ to hike up to the 1st stop and walk down, but worth it. See more..
  29. 4.0 Orang Utan Island (81 reviews)
    - Excellent Place, Ignore the Negative Reviews
    Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Orang Utan Island image
I am once again surprised at the mixed reviews on a place that is a true gem. Rented a car to drive from Penang to the Cameron Highlands (and beyond) and specifically awoke at 5am (after being out until 2am + 12-hour jet lag) to get the first ferry out to see the orangutans. The orangutans are indeed behind wire/cages, but if you actually listen to the guided tour you'll realize these are introverted animals that aren't supposed to interact with humans at all. This is a rehabilitation center to help stabilize and eventually grow the population as they are at risk of extinction due to human encroachment. Will make a point to visit their Borneo location on my next trip to Asia in 2019. Take the southern of the two bridges connecting Penang to the mainland by the way. See more..
  30. 4.0 Foo Lin Kong Temple (72 reviews)
    - Beautiful Temple at Beautiful Island
Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Foo Lin Kong Temple image
The temple is quite big, but it's serene, nice, and calming. It has mini great wall of China that being built circling the hill at the back of the temple, which at the end, lead you to a mini fish and turtle ponds. The view is really beautiful from the top (highest point of the temple, where the word stone located) you can see the beach and the sea, as well as the entire landscape of the temple. The temple also the oldest religious site at the island, as well as the biggest Buddhist temple. It's worth of your visit if you spend more than a day at the island, and during my visit, there is a cute dog relaxing around, too :) See more..
