  1. 4.5 Panorama Langkawi SkyCab (12.3k reviews) from $36.60
    - Amazing experience
Monday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Trams
    Panorama Langkawi SkyCab image
Panorama Langkawi is located on the southwest coast of Langkawi island. The cable car ride will bring you all the way up to about 708 meters above sea level. This journey covers a total distance of 2.2 km linking the Base Station at the foothill of Machinchang mountain to Top Station at the mountain summit & to the SkyBridge. See more..
  2. 4.5 Langkawi Sky Bridge (4.491 reviews)
    - Is beautiful, but so hard to take photo
    Bridges
    Langkawi Sky Bridge image
There is so many tourist here we nearly no location to take photo. If you have strength, I recommend take mountain road to go directly the bridge, because need spend time and money to take cable car, so I rather walk a little road to do exercise and watch the scenery. At the middle of the bridge, there is one glass floor seems to be a problem because surrounded by barricades to wait repair, it is so dangerous because children usually not noticed and directly across there. See more..
  3. 4.5 Kilim Karst Geoforest Park (2.197 reviews)
    - Learning About Nature
    Monday: 8:30 AM - 6:00 AM Parks • Forests
    Kilim Karst Geoforest Park image
A great environment to teach children about the mangrove ecosystem. We took the 2 hrs tour that covers bat cave, crocodile cave, Eagle feeding, fish farm (a chance to feed stingray) and cruise from the mangrove river estuary leading to the Andaman sea. Advice - do not eat any seafood at the fish farm restaurant as the prices are exorbitant. Its daylight robbery prices. See more..
  4. 4.5 Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls (1.442 reviews)
    - Nice calm place
    Waterfalls
    Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls image
We spent 2 to 3 hours there sitting by the natural small but refreshing pools. It was clean and not too crowded. Going down, we passed by the waterfall which was nice but didn't stay there for too long. There is no entrance fee, we just payed 1rm to park the scooter. See more..
  5. 4.5 Tanjung Rhu Beach (1.209 reviews)
    - Pretty and serene beach
    Beaches • Caverns & Caves
    Tanjung Rhu Beach image
read some reviews that this beach is private but fret not! it's accessible. We went around 5pm to catch sunset and it was low tide, saw many people walked towards the sea to mini islands/ rock formations in the middle of the sea. Need to alert and watch the tide level as it went up to waist level approaching 7pm. Make sure you make back to the shore before! See more..
  6. 4.5 Art In Paradise (762 reviews)
    - Utterly Awesome!!!
Monday: 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM Art Museums
    Art In Paradise image
This most excellent museum is included in the cable car purchase. I'd pay extra it was so cool! Many zones to go through, each unique and fantastic. There is a brief "show" on the hour in the darkened room and everyone against one wall for viewing. It was pretty nice but a tiny part of the overall experience. Great for families, the best for anyone. You'll see Vern and me in the pictures. See more..
  7. 4.5 Pasir Tengkorak Beach (278 reviews)
    - Beach with clear water
    Beaches
    Pasir Tengkorak Beach image
Beautiful little beach worth visiting because it is quite different than all other long beaches at Langkawi. There was a little kiosk where a nice old man was selling coconuts, water, noodle cups and some snacks. The prices were very cheap compared to pantai cenang and it is nice to support local services. There isn't any other services. Take a scooter here because the Grap works here only if some driver happens to drive near. Local people at the kiosk were so kind to let us use their wifi-hotspot to get a Grap (we didn't have an international driving license and finnish license is not enough so we could hire a scooter). See more..
  8. 4.5 Zahir Mosque (148 reviews)
    - One of the most beautiful mosques I have ever visited
Historic Sites • Architectural Buildings • Religious Sites
    Zahir Mosque image
I was really impressed with the architecture of this mosque. It's so unique and beautiful, I had the opportunity to perform the Zuhr prayer, and I feel like very calm. For Muslims who were coming to Alor setar, please do not miss the chance to come and pray at this mosque. Although the mosque has been built for a long time ago, it is very well kept and really clean. See more..
  9. 4.5 Aman Central (148 reviews)
    - A mall that got what it takes!
Monday: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Shopping Malls
    Aman Central image
If you are a local traveler spend a night at a nearby hotel in this area, this mall provides you with all the amenities as travelers. Plenty of food stalls inside and if you are a Korean food lover, you need to try one of its Korean restaurants there (Oiso Korean Restaurant). You will love the food and definitely will craving for more! See more..
  10. 4.5 Langkawi Geopark (142 reviews)
    - Amazing views
Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Geologic Formations
    Langkawi Geopark image
Overall the day trip up the mountain was excellent, just too many people in one place at one time. Probably would have been a little quieter, if we had arrived earlier in the day. We arrived at just after 11, purchasing two tickets at RM85 each for SkyCab which is two cable car rides to the top. A little disappointing that there was a charge for the restroom after the first trip. Whereas, at the top there was no charge. When we arrived at the top we trekked down to the bridge passing a few monkeys on the way. On the way back up, we used the SkyGlide for RM10 per person (which was a 10 person carriage of a funicular railway). Views from the bridge were spectacular, with parts of the walkway made see through. So you can stand taking pictures straight down. A great few hours of entertainment. See more..
  11. 4.5 Lembah Bujang Archaeological Museum (34 reviews)
    - Wonderful historical asset within one and a half hours of Penang
    History Museums
    Lembah Bujang Archaeological Museum image
Anyone interested in prehistory will love the museum at Merbok, as well as the 1st century jetty and 4th century iron ore smelting sites at Sungai Batu, 10 kms short of the Merbok museum. (See Wikipedia entry for Bujang Valley for historical summary.) The museum is small but well maintained and material is well presented. (Ignore any negative comments you may see elsewhere.) The sites are not that well sign posted on Tollway or feeder roads, and surprisingly not well known in Penang. Download a copy of the map in attached photos to show your driver. From Georgetown, it takes about one and a half hours each way to Merbok outside Penang peak hours. See more..
  12. 4.0 Cenang Beach (4.803 reviews)
    - Sunset in Langkawi
    Spent 1-2 hours Beaches
    Cenang Beach image
Watersports, beach games, beach bars, hotel by the beach, seashells lining the beach for your picking, these are not the only attraction. If you loves sunset (not during monsoon season), you can watch it here and on a good day, it will be spectacular. It's golden rays fills the sea and shells on the beach. A surprise attraction was the "beach buskers". They performed some incredible stunts with flaming baton, flaming balls and flaming cannon. This was just after sunset. See more..
  13. 4.0 Eagle Square (1.553 reviews)
    - Better than expected
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Monuments & Statues
    Eagle Square image
We went in the evening as the 90+ degree heat was abating. You can see the statue from quite aways away. The thought we had was "wow!" It's a lovely area on the point with plenty to get your attention. Boats in the bay, people watching, and restaurants at Jetty Point. See more..

  16. 4.0 Langkawi Night Market (555 reviews)
    - Vibrant food gathering
    Flea & Street Markets
    Langkawi Night Market image
Every Wednesday and Saturday an interesting large food market opens up in Kuah next to the Golden Sands hotel. The majority of customers are locals enjoying the vast array of Malaysian dishes and a stroll with the family in the warm evening after sundown, so it isn't at all touristy. Even some of the vendors seem to be non professionals offering the best from their home menu and explaining willingly in English about the dishes and their ingredients. Fresh exotic fruit like durians, mangoes and lychees are also sold at reasonable prices. In daytime the low buildings next door are the place to shop in Kuah, tax free is widely advertised, but I bought cotton batiks, shopping bags featuring Van Gogh paintings and nice flip flops with rafflesia flowers See more..
  17. 4.0 Tengah Beach (527 reviews)
    - Beautiful beach.
    Beaches
    Tengah Beach image
What a beautiful beach. Nice to walk along and occasionally watch the reef heron at the water edge. You may see the white belly eagle or the brahminy kite patrolling here. Other birds we saw here include the unusual collared kingfisher. There are more building sites appearing along the back of this beach and I hope it can retain its idyllic charm rather than turn into party-land and lose the wildlife. See more..
  18. 4.0 Dayang Bunting Island (500 reviews)
    - Vacation in Langkawi
    Spent < 1 hour Islands
    Dayang Bunting Island image
It was a part of our island hopping tour. After the view of the "sleeping pregnant lady" we landed on the island. Incredibly on the island was a fresh sweet water lake well preserved and clean. Ofcourse the water would not be drinkable as it was a rain water lake collected through time. So the water would be logged with bacteria. We had a Kayaking experience and a swimming experience in the lake See more..
  19. 4.0 Gunung Raya (476 reviews)
    - First Hiking Experience
    Mountains
    Gunung Raya image

This trekking trail is very different from any other mountain in Malaysia. The Thousand Eagle Eagle Stairs were built in March 2000 and completed in February 2001. See more..
  20. 4.0 Beras Basah Island (461 reviews)
    - Average and dirty
    Islands • Beaches
    Beras Basah Island image
This is a beautiful island which is tainted by tourists, we turned up at around 2pm and the place was a mess, there was litter and plastic bottles everywhere. The pigs were a nice touch and funny to watch. Probably wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again See more..
  21. 4.0 Lake of the Pregnant Maiden (455 reviews)
    - Worth a visit!
    Bodies of Water
Lake of the Pregnant Maiden image
We were brought here as part of the island hopping tour by a speed boat and got an hour to spend as we wished until the boat came to pick us up. A nice walk through the Dayang Bunting Marble Geo-Forest Park lead us to this beautiful freshwater lake. You will see many monkeys up close while u walk but if you don't pay much attention and walk past them, they will not harass you and your belongings. There are paddle boats to rent out for RM15 per 30 mins and its very relaxing to admire the environment from the lake since you are away from the crowd. I also payed RM5 and got a life jacket when i was getting into the water but you are advised not to get into the water from the boat, only from the platform. Over all the experience was nice and memorable. See more..
  22. 4.0 Temurun Waterfall (450 reviews)

The waterfall is very beautiful. The clean and fresh water so you can swim here. You must climb but when you see the small lake, you will like it. See more..
  23. 4.0 Durian Perangin Waterfall (300 reviews)
    - Beautiful spot
    Waterfalls
    Durian Perangin Waterfall image
We hired a driver for a few hours & stopped in here. Make sure if you want to climb to the top you were sneakers. The gardens are beautiful & well kept. We walked to the top where the main waterfall is, they hadn't had much rain so there wasn't much water in there. People were still swimming in there though but it looked cold. It would be magnificent after some heavy rains. I would highly recommend visiting. It's only 2ringgit to visit. See more..

  25. 4.0 Galeria Perdana (164 reviews)
    - A gallery full of gifts
    Speciality Museums
    Galeria Perdana image
This place tickets cost RM 5 for adult and RM 2 for child (mykad holder). You may spend half day here if you are a fan of Tun Mahathir. Nothing much here, only lots of souvenir given by other country to Tun Mahathir for past 30 years. In overall you can still pay a visit here if you have got nothing much to do in Langkawi island. See more..
  26. 4.0 Alor Setar Tower (162 reviews)
    - Great Visit to the Tower
Architectural Buildings • Observation Decks & Towers
    Alor Setar Tower image
This tower is underrated. The outlook of the tower isn't in its glory days. However, the tower still gives you the aerial view of the city (Alor Setar). This is the only tower, that when I visited at almost sunset, there is no one around. I get the whole sunset view to myself. For the locals here the tower may be boring, but for visitors the tower is the place to check out the river, the old buildings and the landscape (including the hills). There is a fee to enter. You can go to the viewing area level or to the restaurant. Around the viewing area level (open air), there are few telescopes if there is no one around you can use it to your own and have a close up view of almost everything. The tower unfortunately has no explanation on the landmarks of the city. There are toilets at the viewing level. Best time to go is in the late evening when it is windy, not hot and you can stay till sunset. See more..
  27. 4.0 Kedah Paddy Museum (135 reviews)
    - Unique Museum that stands out
    Speciality Museums
    Kedah Paddy Museum image
This is a museum about the history of rice cultivation in Kedah and also across Malaysia. If you have knowledge about rice cultivation, it might be of great interest to you. It is definitely a must go if you are stopping by Alor Setar. At the top of the building, you get to see a lifelike painting of a panorama of Kedah’s landscape of paddy fields. (Revolving platform) There is a photo taking service (charged separately). More could probably be done to market this museum better as it seems like a very unique place. One thing to note for tourists - if you don’t drive, make sure you have transportation back to Alor Setar. It’s possible to take Grab from Alor Setar to this museum but you might not be able to get a Grab back to Alor Setar. You may want to request the Grab driver to fetch you or you would likely need the museum staff to call you a cab. (Fare will be prenegotiated - we spent RM 25 going back to Alor Setar via cab) See more..
  28. 4.0 Gunung Mat Cincang (107 reviews)
    - Tough and extremely challenging hike
    Mountains
    Gunung Mat Cincang image
Forget the distance of the hike - the challenge is the extremely steep incline. We’re relative fit people and it pushed us to our limits. Probably should have left much earlier than we did. Started at 1pm and took just over 2hrs to reach the start of the peak. In the extremely hot summer weather we decided to call it a day just prior to the summit - it was way too hot without shade and we’d already powered through 2 litres of water each. Great views from the top but be prepared to scramble and pull yourself over rocks for much of the way. If we did it again we’d bring over 3 litres of water and start much much earlier. Disappointed that we saw no wildlife during our 5 hours on this trek. Just a few bats but no monkeys, despite all the signs there were even none at the Seven Wells. See more..
  29. 4.0 Atma Alam Batik Village (105 reviews)
    - Serene and calm batik village
    Art Galleries
    Atma Alam Batik Village image
Checked this place out as we wanted yo experience batik painting as a family. Located not too far from the airport, the traditional architectural complex has a beautiful calming effect as you drive in. It was rather quiet when we went in the morning. Very friendly assistants who took us to select our pre drawn canvas. We were then taken to the workshop where we were given colours and brush. As a bonus, we had the privilege of meeting the owner/ founder, Aza who's an oil painter who gave us a couple of tips. Friendly and warm chap, we got to meet his wife the co founder too. There's something about the place that's relaxing and calming. Highly recommended. See more..

    Historic Sites
    Rumah Kelahiran Mahathir image
This complex is simply lovely. Not only you get to visit Tun Dr Mahathir’s family home but you get to visit small museum buildings related to the man. It was a lovely experience. And oh, the public toilets were amazing. This complex is very well maintained. Must visit. Free entrance. See more..
