Better than expected

We went in the evening as the 90+ degree heat was abating. You can see the statue from quite aways away. The thought we had was "wow!" It's a lovely area on the point with plenty to get your attention. Boats in the bay, people watching, and restaurants at Jetty Point.

The Landmark
I took a nice walk around this iconic and famous landmark of this whole of Langkawi Island during the night. It was very peaceful and quiet as the pandemic really hit the town badly. Nevertheless, the sight of this wonderful landmark which is litted up by a series of different colour lights remains undiminished. Unique and must visit.

Transport in Langkawi
Arriving in Langkawi we jumped in a taxi to our hotel. The cost was RM50. Returning from the hotel by GRAB was RM15. My advice before traveling to Malaysia download the GRAB app. All the vehicles are good, drivers are very polite and fares are a third of the price of a taxi. I would say maximum wait is five minutes. The app shows you where your driver is and it’s easy to contact them. So my advice is use GRAB.
