  3. 4.0 The Zon Duty Free Shop (1 review)
    - Duty Free Products
Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 11:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality & Gift Shops
My friends and I have had problems getting as much information on the duty free regulation and prices of products especially on liquor when we visit Hatyai over the weekend. So when we decide to leave our car in the overnight car park in the Bukit Kayu Hitam Duty Free Complex and hop on the Thai transport (a sedan Toyota Altis) after learning that it only cost us Rm15 for overnight parking and the transport fees in a private car for 4 people cost 800 Baht (Rm 111) each way. One also have the choice to ride the Thai van which cost 1000 Baht (Rm139) or charter a Taxi which cost 1200 Baht (Rm167) one way. So after loading ourselves with transport charges we drop in the Duty Free shop to get details on liquor. It is good that we did and learnt that we can bring 1 litre of any liquor into Thailand but we cannot purchase any to bring back home in Malaysia. There is a restriction that Malaysian visitors and foreigners with Malaysian Visas in their respective passports have to stay in Hatyai or Thailand 4 days and 3 nights to qualify. But any tourist entering Bukit Kayu Hitam (Malaysia) from Thailand do not have any restrictions on their Thai stay. These tourists are exempted even though they stay just a day! Same applies to other duty free products like cigarettes beer etc etc. Good to know!!! See more..

It's actually operating from a housing area. The road towards it is narrow and parking can be a problem during peak and rainy days. This place is very packed during festive seasons. There are so many types of home made cookies, banana crisps, local popular delicacies. See more..
