4.0Galeria Perdana(164 reviews) - A gallery full of gifts Speciality Museums
This place tickets cost RM 5 for adult and RM 2 for child (mykad holder). You may spend half day here if you are a fan of Tun Mahathir. Nothing much here, only lots of souvenir given by other country to Tun Mahathir for past 30 years. In overall you can still pay a visit here if you have got nothing much to do in Langkawi island. 3.5Rice Museum(164 reviews) - A Fun Free Place to Learn Speciality Museums
This is an interesting museum that teaches about the island's history and culture. We enjoyed strolling around. It's not terribly well maintained and several buildings were closed, but it's fun to see how rice is grown, the historic tools, etc. It's nice that there is no admission cost. See more..
4.0Kedah Paddy Museum(135 reviews) - Unique Museum that stands out Speciality Museums
This is a museum about the history of rice cultivation in Kedah and also across Malaysia. If you have knowledge about rice cultivation, it might be of great interest to you. It is definitely a must go if you are stopping by Alor Setar. At the top of the building, you get to see a lifelike painting of a panorama of Kedah’s landscape of paddy fields. (Revolving platform) There is a photo taking service (charged separately). More could probably be done to market this museum better as it seems like a very unique place. One thing to note for tourists - if you don’t drive, make sure you have transportation back to Alor Setar. It’s possible to take Grab from Alor Setar to this museum but you might not be able to get a Grab back to Alor Setar. You may want to request the Grab driver to fetch you or you would likely need the museum staff to call you a cab. (Fare will be prenegotiated - we spent RM 25 going back to Alor Setar via cab)See more..

4.0Kuala Kedah Fort Historical Complex(13 reviews) - An old place to visit in Kuala Kedah Thursday: 8:00 AM - 11:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums • History Museums
The place is near the sea. It will take you 20-30 minutes to get here from the city centre. This is where the locals watch sunset at a nearby beach. Kota Kuala Kedah is an open air museum. There is not much to do but it is a good place to do walkabout the area. The main attraction is the old house museum (mind you it closes at sharp 6pm). There is a light house here but you can't go in. The entry is free. Walking around the wall perimeters gives you a different even. Near the walls you can see old canons build by the British. There is also 2 huge fancy gates that can't be opened. Just for taking pictures. Good place to do a slow visit. Some steps to take to get to the area (not wheelchair friendly). There is ample car park space.See more..
this gallery is located in the city center of Alor Setar and closed to other attractions such as Zahir Mosque, Balai Nobat, Balai Besar and Royal Museum. It exhibits various personal collection of the reigning Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah such as clothing, awards, photos and vehicles. My favorite section is the vehicles collection. The admission is free but sadly, photography is not allowed. Some of the items on display are showing the sign of ageing and definitely in need of proper maintenance from the management. Nevertheless, this gallery is a very good attraction and considered as a "must visit" if you are in Alor Setar.See more..
