   Panare Beach is probably the best place to see kolae boats. A kolae boat is a traditional fishing boat. You will only find them in the lower provinces in the South. These small boats are between 10 and 12.5 metres long. They are beautifully decorated. Designs on the boat are a combination of Malay, Javanese, and Thai styles, with emphasis on Thai patterns, such as a running scroll design, lotus, serpents, magic monkeys, and heads of birds in literature like "Burong Si-ngo" or Singhapaksi (a creature with the body of a lion and the head of a bird holding a fish with its beak) at the bow (Wikipedia).    This complex has two museums of which the Folklore Museum is the most interesting. There are explanations and exhibits about the Thai, Muslim and Chinese way of life. It is really well done and worth at least an hour of your time. There are a number of brand- new bicycle taxis (samlors) on display on the ground floor. It took us a while to find the museum on the grounds of the Prince of Songkhla University but it was well worth it. Entrance fee is 50THB per person.    Thai-Chinese and oversea chinese always to visit Lim Gor Neaw shrine in each year to pay respect and pray for the auspicious, health and business here. There are museum of her legacy beside the shrine too.
