  7. 5.0 Malai Farm at Cha Am (11 reviews)
    - Best petting zoo that I have been to!
    Zoos
Malai Farm at Cha Am image
We were looking for something to do that children (4&7) would enjoy. My girlfriend having seen Malai Farm out of the bus window one day thought this might be a good place to try. Maiai Farm ended up being an excellent place to spend time with the kids. It's a large petting zoo, all of the animals looked healthy and well taken care of. The grounds were clean and there were none of those “aromas” that you usually associate with petting zoos. We ended up staying there for a couple of hours and we all had fun! There is a small restaurant located at the back of the property, the food was good and reasonably priced. The only entry requirement is that you purchase a basket of animal feed (greens, carrots, and corn) for 100 Baht. You will easily use what is in the basket and probably want to purchase more at various stations scattered around the facility for 20 Baht a pop. They open at 8am, I would suggest getting there early (by 9am) to beat the crowds and the heat. See more..
  8. 4.5 Tham Khao Luang Cave (423 reviews)
    - just to it ! Its amazing
    Caverns & Caves
    Tham Khao Luang Cave image
on our road between Bangkok to Chumphon we saw a little small advertising about this cave and decided spontaneously to visit: After driving through endless nice beautiful landscape - a road between small villages and rice fields... Even though we drove by several times, we only can recommend this beautiful temple cave: its easy to get there, entrance is just a small donation, compared what you will experience there - just take your time, follow the rules and be aware of monkeys... a shuttle from temple brings you for free to the cave - there you have to take your time and enjoy See more..
  9. 4.5 Kaeng Krachan National Park (193 reviews)
    - Amazing park - took a tour with Tontan Travel
    National Parks
    Kaeng Krachan National Park image
An amazing Christmas experience in Khaeng Krachan, where we saw and heard a large number of animals, including stump-tailed macaques, a family of Gibbons, a Black Panther (that was the really lucky one!), hornbills (greater and oriental pied), serpent eagles, pit viper, and so many more (our list got to over 50 species inc birds). We travelled as a family of 3, with an 11-year old child. We had a fantastic guide called Mong through Tontan Travel Wildlife Tours, who had a great ability to spot things and then zoom in on them with his telescope for us to see. The tour company also provided a good open-topped truck (great for viewing but bring a jacket for the wind!) and driver and took us to good places for lunch each day. We stayed just outside the park at Baan Maka nature lodge, which was also very good. See more..

  11. 4.5 Nayang Bat Cave (48 reviews)
    - Deserves more than 5 stars - very cool experience!
    Caverns & Caves
    Nayang Bat Cave image
This is one of the coolest things to do/see in Cha-am / Hua Hin. It definitely requires a car or a hired driver to get to it. CRITICAL: The bats fly out at sunset. That means sometime between 5:30pm-6:30pm, depending on the time of the year. No need to get there more than 5 minutes before sunset. It takes about 15 minutes for all of the 1-2M bats to exit. Be *sure* to watch for the Hawks who lay in wait and in the first few minutes of the exodus will dive bomb the bats to get their dinner. There is a donation box...give them 50 baht/person. If you get there early, feed the fish in the pool below the watching stand (20 baht/bag of feed). There were a couple albino carp swimming among the many normal/gray carp. See more..
  12. 4.5 Chang Hua Man Royal Project (47 reviews)
    - Country farm of my late king Rama 9
    Farms
Chang Hua Man Royal Project image
This 250 rai farm is a farm research center of my late king Rama IX and education center of his people who love farming. The officer starts with VDO presentaion shows overview of this royal project. Then lead us to a shuttle car browse around the farm. The farm contains areas of soil improvement, natual fertilizer production, plots of many kinds of trees , cows and cow milk produce. My most impress goes to a plain small building which is my late king workplace. The product in this farm are sold in a small shop in the farm as, well as some royal stores in Bangkok. This is one of his over four thousand royal projects. I ‘m proud to be born in hi reign. See more..

    - Lovely place for both kids and adults
    Farms
    Danus' Hobby Farm image
We joined a one-day trip and this farm was one of the destinations of the trip. We had a great time there, feeding milk to the lambs and grasses to the guinea pigs. The lambs we fed were walking freely on the grassland. Others were resting in the lovely huts. They all looked clean and healthy. The staff members in this farm were friendly though they could not communicate well. They gave each of us a small scoop of ice cream for free. We would highly recommend this place. See more..

Follow the paths down to the horse stalls to see some lovely landscaping and good views (through the smog) of Phetchaburi). The Royal palace is attractive and has quite a bit of period furniture and decorative pieces. Excellent area to do a little birdwatching as the entire hill is covered with trees and shrubs and there are many birds to see. See more..

    Spent 2-3 hours Farms
1000 Sook Food and Farm image
If you’re into feeding animals and relaxing your noon away, this is honestly the best place to go in Hua Hin. I would highly recommend this! We went there for lunch and were given 3 tickets (200B for one complimentary ticket) to the farm for free (otherwise 50B entrance fee). There were rabbits, ponies, sheeps all waiting to be fed. Though the place is a tad small, we only spent 20mins in there. However, great place if you wanna go See more..
  23. 4.0 Phra Ram Ratchaniwet (80 reviews)
    - A curious and quiet palace
    Architectural Buildings
    Phra Ram Ratchaniwet image
If you visit Khao Wang in Phetchaburi, you can see this palace. It receives just a fraction of the visitors that Khao Wang does. It was built in a European style by a German architect which gives you some insight into King Rama V's thinking at the time. It has a certain charm and elegance. We were the only visitors at the time and the tranquillity added to the attraction. The estate now belongs to the Thai army. The Palace and the area around it are carefully maintained. It is the same place as Ban Peun which is lsited by trip advisor as a separate attraction. See more..

    Kaeng Krachan Dam image
Kaeng Krachan is my favorite place. Because it is a very good water play place, cold water, there are a lot of accommodation. whether overnight or temporarily It is recommended to choose accommodation that is not too upstream or downstream, such as Ban Ob Fah Resort, Chaem Chan Resort, delicious food, affordable prices, clean bathrooms, very well managed. And during Saturdays, Sundays or during the festival, there will be a lot of people. I will definitely go there again when I have the opportunity. See more..

    Cha-am Forest Park image
We hired a motorcycle from Cha am beach and looking for things to do. This place is easy enough to get once in you we parked near the office and walked over the bridge. It was free to park and free to get in. As soon as we started walking we saw the gibbons which was amazing. We had a walk around and saw some birds, we think great white Egret and a erm... We used the toilet on the way out which was again free and it even had running water. It’s nice to see happy animals in Thailand for a change. Bring your own toilet roll, water to drink and plenty of mosquitoe spray. See more..

  30. 4.0 Wat Cha Am (37 reviews)
    - Temple with cool caves & trails
Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Wat Cha Am image
My wife & I stumbled on this temple while riding our scooter around Cha-Am. If you have had enough beach time -- or want to explore some of the nearby Wats, this on is recommended. The highlight is the cave and the surrounding trails. There quite a lot of 'Soi Dogs' that are a little intimidating. They seem quick to bark. There is also a large pig on the grounds that is sure to make you smile. The monks & monkettes were all friendly. We saw no other tourists while we were there. The grounds can be explored in 30 minutes-- all for free, unless you care to donate. Remember to dress appropriately. See more..
