   Though there are very few visitors, this is really an fantastic museum. It covers the history of Thailand and predominantly Suphanburi area through movies, reconstructions of houses and shops from olden days and with audio-visual effects. Very nicely done. There are various sections, one with ancient history through art objects and buddhist art, recent history and people from Suphanburi, a section about Thai music and artists, where you can listen to a variety of songs from the past. And finally the museum walks you through some of teh recent economic development and projects. Foreigner admission price of B100, only open from Wednesday through Sunday and closed on national holidays. If you are visting Suphanburi, definitely recommended to make a stop here. See more..

    A well maintained museum provides interesting informations about ancient Dvaravati civilization. It is believed that this region was once "Suvarnabhumi" (land of gold), the first place in Southeast Asia where Buddhism was settled. The museum collects many ancient artifacts such as decorations, coins, sculptures, Buddha images, Dhammajak (in very good condition). It also uses animation to tell some stories. Moreover, there is a traditional Thai Song Dam house (near the museum building) that display household appliances which reflects the way of Thai Song Dam. P.S.     On 14 Feb 2013, my Thai chinese friends drove me, my wife and daughter to Wat Mangkon (Dragon Temple) in Suphan Buri about 2 hours North of Bangkok. The massive colourful dragon houses a musuem of Chinese history and early chinese who migrated to Thailand. Entrance fee is required to enter museum.     Some listings on the internet claim that Banharn Jamsai Tower is the tallest observation deck tower in Thailand. At 123.25 meters high, it certainly is the tallest in Suphanburi, but it is dwarfed by the observation decks at Baiyoke Tower in Bangkok, which soars to 343.3 meters. Nevertheless, it offers the best 360 degree views of Suphanburi City and its surrounds - out to 50 km on a clear day. Unfortunately the day we visited it was raining non stop, so the long views were shrouded in mist, but we will enjoyed looking down on the city we had spent the last two days exploring. Entrance is Baht 40, for both locals and foreigners, which is a pleasant change in a country renowned for its discriminatory pricing. Banharn Jamsai Tower is sited in a pleasant and well maintained park, which also features a palm garden, waterfalls, carp ponds, water fountain plaza, a kid's playground and a Buddhist shrine.
