  1. 5.0 Ganesh Temple (2 reviews)
    - Excellent place to visit... lots to see
    Religious Sites
    Ganesh Temple image
We were told about this place and that if your in the area it is well worth a visit, and we were not disappointed as well as the reclining pink ganesh there are many more religious items to see, as well as some museums and the usual little gift shops and places to eat. Great picture opportunities and suitable for people of all ages. We spent a lot longer looking round than we had originally planned but well worth the extra hour. See more..

    - A wat to not miss in a town that is also a must see!

    Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan image
Said to be the largest chapel in Thailand, the wat (temple) houses a very famous Buddha image that locals bring offerings to for merit making. Dig up the story -- it's fascinating. The wat is on the river that goes thru the town of Chachoengsao and you must do at least a quick tour of the downtown area. It's very charming and obviously quite old. The large Thai market across the street can be fun, too. See more..
  4. 4.5 Thai Country Club (30 reviews)
    - A Great Experience
    Golf Courses
    Thai Country Club image
It is not just the attractive and enjoyable course that makes this such a good round of golf, it is also the quality of the staff. The caddies are excellent; knowledgeable with good language and interpersonal skills and the clubhouse staff are also great. How much does it cost the club to give you a complimentary bottle of water? Very little, but the gesture is appreciated, other clubs should take note. See more..

Wat Sothon Wararam Woraviharn or Wat Hong is a beautiful temple which is understood to be the oldest temple in Chachoengsao. It was built in the reign of the late Krung Sri Ayudhaya time. There is the famous Buddha in this temple, "Luang Por Sothorn". This Buddha is the symbol of Chachoengsao, and is revered by local residents, which are understood to be mainly of Chinese descent. At night the temple is lighted up beautifully and is a sight to behold. A short hour's drive out of Bangkok city & it's another place to visit. See more..

    Wat Saman Rattanaram Temple image
Lord Ganesh laying it down at Wat Saman Ratannaram, Chachoengsao, Thailand. Now in my top 5 temples to visit in Thailand.. although it’s a bit of cash grab, these amazing statues on the inside, are just glorified gift shops. There Is an entire market within it for food, drinks, shopping and animal petting. Also can see Wat Sorhorn Rattanaram which about 20mins drive from this temple. Takes about 90mins drive from Bangkok. Prepare to be hot & Bring lots of change. See more..

  14. 4.0 Wat Pho Bang Khla (34 reviews)
    - Not a typical tourist destination
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Religious Sites
    Wat Pho Bang Khla image
I almost do not want to share this place because I do not want it to be run by tourists, but I want to spread the word. Bang Khla is the temple of bats. Big fruit bats hanging from the trees. Hundreds of them. Don't go to the temple if you are not fond of bats, because there are plenty of them. The temple is about a 2-3 hour drive from Bangkok, depending on traffic. However, if you are fan of bats like we are, I highly suggest visiting this temple. An old temple where the main attraction is the hundreds of bats that live on the temple property. They are fruit bats, so they are fairly harmless. Rumor is that the bats do not eat any fruits in the city, they go to the neighboring village to eat. It is their sign of respecting the locals and the temple. Interesting story! See more..
  15. 4.0 Royal Lakeside Golf club (29 reviews)
    - Good choice
Monday: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses
    Royal Lakeside Golf club image
Played a round of golf here in April, we paid 700 Baht each not including cart. This was during Songkran so it was smooth to get there from central Bangkok as traffic was non existing (very strange in Bangkok). The Course have a nice layout and the condition was very good. My caddie talked very limited English but that is normal. Its me that visiting their country so no need to complain. All in all I recomend it to anyone unless you are a total beginner, then I Think its too difficult as there is alot of water. Which i found out the hard way :). See more..

Make sure you walk around 3x This is located within Wat Saman Rattanaram which is about 90mins drive from Bangkok and also where the largest Lying Ganesh (pink elephant) is. Great temple, you could spend all day here. Also a market, lots of food, drinks, vendors. Bring lots of 1-5baht coins. Prepare for it to be hot, but you must be dressed/covered appropriately, it’s still a temple. See more..

    Wat Chin Prachasamoson image
Just wanted to add a review in English. This temple is a bit rundown externally in some areas although I enjoyed going there. We couldn't visit the larger tiered section due to events. There are construction works in the area also. I collect some Buddhist trinkets for our small shrine at home and found them very reasonably priced. See more..

After spent a moment in dog cafe (Alaskan Malamute) near the ticket booth, we hired a golf cart driving around this enormous place. Sightseeing included palm garden, rice field, cutie resorts, many breeds of birds (especially parrots and macaws), ducks, deers, goat, sheep, buffaloes and tortoises. Feeding is allowed in some zones. This place is good for animal lovers. See more..
  22. 4.0 Wat Uphai Phatikaram (12 reviews)
    - This Chinese style temple is famous among both local Thai-Chinese and Chinese visitors
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Wat Uphai Phatikaram image
This temple has famous big buddha image (Sam-Por-Kong) which was related to big buddha image in Wat Phanan Choeng, Ayutthaya province (kind of replica, which built by old time chinese business man some hundred years ago). Also this buddha image has some stories linked to Zhèng Hé and his legendary travels which you can find in other riverfront temples in other provinces as well. I believe we have 3 temples with Sam-Por-Kong buddha images in Thailand. So basically good places to visit for historical buff. See more..

    Wat Hua Suan Temple image

  24. 4.0 Bang Khla Floating Market (10 reviews)
    - Packed w/Dining & shopping people (mostly locals) on the banks of breezy Bang Pakong River
    Farmers Markets
    Bang Khla Floating Market image
I happened to spot this water market a few days ago when I was looking for one of Chacheongsao Province's most publicized features, orchard/markets of mangoes, which are in season from March to May every year. It was a mid day of 5 day-in-row holiday week in Thailand, which made the place's activity - from selling mangoes/other local produces to dining services, whose focus seemed to be on a variety of barbecued seafood - in full throttle. The invigoration of the place certainly must be of its own during the mangoes' high season, but visiting the place in other seasons would be fun too, to enjoy the breezy shopping/dining experiences under a more serene setting with a view of the Bang Pakong flow. - Hundred years old floating market.
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Klongsuan Market image
This charming weekend market located at the border between Samut Prakan and Chachoengsao provinces. Here, visitor will walk on the path along the bank of the canal (sometimes, on the bridge across the canal) and see old-fashioned wooden houses that sell foods, drinks or souvenirs at reasonable prices, whether it be Pak-mor noodles (stuffed dumplings soup), Chinese style stewed duck, Chinese pastry with taro filling (very delicious, the filling was almost gushed out !), coffee and tea, or cutie colorful tiny jars with stainless steel lid. Worth a visit. P.S. Parking lots are available. Nothing remained after 3 p.m.. See more..

  29. 4.0 Koom Wimarn Din (3 reviews)
    - Clay sculpture - you'll love it
    Lessons & Workshops
    Koom Wimarn Din image
Yesterday, I really had a few hours of fun sculpting clay into lovely figurines at Koom Wimarndin. The entrance fee is 30 Baht/person. You can just have a look around taking pictures of their pleasant compound or pay another 40 baht for a bag of clay then start making your own masterpiece with some guidance from their staff. When you are happy with your piece, you can either take it home or ask for it to be baked. The latter takes about a month as they will have to wait for your figurine to dry completely before baking it. There is a very small fee for this service plus the postage. My friend and I find what they charge here is very reasonable. If you are looking to spend a day out somewhere not too far from Bangkok, not just doing some sightseeing but also having fun activities with your family or friends, I recommend you to try this place out. There are also a few interesting temples nearby really worth your visit. See more..

Klong Suan 100 Year Old Market (Chachoengsao) image
I came on a Monday afternoon. Many of the stalls were closed. However, I did manage to eat at the popular duck noodle stall. Please come on a weekend instead. To get here, go to Eastern bus terminal (Ekkamai BTS) , tell the staff there you want to go to "Talad Khlong Suan roi pi" , or better yet, show them the photo of this market. They will tell you to take a minivan at Platform 34. Fare is 120 THB, 1 hour to reach there. See more..
