I was really impressed with the architecture of this mosque. It's so unique and beautiful, I had the opportunity to perform the Zuhr prayer, and I feel like very calm. For Muslims who were coming to Alor setar, please do not miss the chance to come and pray at this mosque. Although the mosque has been built for a long time ago, it is very well kept and really clean. See more..

About 0.5km from the hotel we stayed. As usual many jemaah are old people and a few children following their parents. At 5.40am is great if children can be awake. After morning pray @ Fajr Prayer there is Tazkirah @ Reflection in daily life for an hour. See more..

    Wat Charok Padang image
Wat Charok Padang ('Wat Botol' or 'Glass Bottles Temple'), located off federal road 175, makes an interesting stopover. This is a unique Siamese buddhist temple with some of its walls and roofs adorned with many glass bottles. It is great to see the glass bottles re-used in this manner. There is also a relic of a 'sampan' (boat), believed to be hundreds of years' old that was found in a riverbed close by, on display in its compound. See more..
