Taiping War Cemetery was created by the Army after the defeat of Japan for the reception of graves brought from the battlefields, from numerous temporary burial grounds, and from village and other civil cemeteries where permanent maintenance would not be possible. There are separate entrances to the two parts, the plots of Christian graves lying on the south-eastern side of the road and the Muslim and Gurkha graves on the opposite side. In the Muslim and Gurkha section the Stone of Remembrance stands in front of a high bank which forms the north-western boundary. A small cemetery dedicated to some British soldiers who perished in Perak War and some other Christian civilians. This cemetery is located on top of small hill just next to a landscaping shop and a bit hidden from the road as there is no dedicated signage leading to it. The best landmark to find the cemetery is the newly-renovated Lanai Casuarina Hotel as you can see the cemetery clearly from the hotels' rooms. The cemetery is well-maintained and its gate is opened from morning till evening for visitors to pay a visit.See more..

Located next to the Ubudiah Mosque, the Al-Ghufran Royal Mausoleum is a burial ground dedicated for the Perak Sultans and family members of the royal.
