Here is the good things about the Waterpark. We are grandparents with small young granddaughters the slides were great since they are all 42" minimum. The Waterpark is small and wasn't very crowded with maximum wait of 15 minutes for best slide, most slides were less than 5 minute wait. The bad things. First you are unable to bring ice chest or food which puts too much pressure on lone restaurant. Long waits to order food, then have to wait in another line again to get burger or hot dog grilled, food was pretty good but had to wait over 30 minutes from start to finish. Second we reserved a cabana, received 8 cold waters but nothing at cabanas to keep water cold and with no ice chest water gets hot fast. We had fun but place needs some changes to make it better.See more..
3.5Buccaneer State Park(172 reviews) - Wave pool and waterslides Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM State Parks
There are two different things to experience at this state park - the camping and the wave pool. I have never camped here but as someone who has spent a lifetime camping it appears to be a pretty good spot simply due to location. I come here for the wave pool. At $19 a visit it can be pricey, however, I usually get a season pass for $60 and visit multiple times during the summer. I enjoy relaxing in the shaded areas and feeling the gulf breezes. I also enjoy both of the waterslides as well as dips in the wave pool. I don't usually eat here but I didn't find the prices to be all that unreasonable. The changing areas are clean and there are showers throughout the property. There is a large covered area underneath the main building for those trying to keep out of the sun. It is a very good place to get away to just to relax and it is even better mid-week when it is less crowded.See more..

This 168 acre park along the Mississippi features museums and nature trails.See more..
I tent camped at the park for a week while working in nearby Hattiesburg and had a great time. I made my reservation on line and found a nice dry site for tenting that was large enough for some privacy. I noticed when I got there that some sites are pretty "squishy," so look carefully if you're tenting. The staff was friendly, helpful, and interesting; the other guests were fun and friendly. The amazing fog coming off the lake most mornings was included in the price of admission. The park was quiet; I slept great every night. I understand the park will have funding to update their infrastructure over the next couple of years, so watch for some improvements in the future. I challenge the park to install ***good lighting over the mirrors in the updated women's bathrooms.***See more..
4.5Jones Park(138 reviews) - A great beach that you didn't expect to find in Mississippi. Parks
I have driven through this area many times heading from New Orleans to Atlanta or Atlanta to Houston. The transformation has been amazing. The beach itself has been thoroughly cleaned up, infrastructure and facilities for an open air meeting or the use of showers and restrooms are now in place. There is a ton of space to spread out (easily satisfying pandemic requirements). There is also a fishing pier and a marina located adjacent to the park. The beach itself? Well, the sand is not pure white like that of the Florida panhandle, but it is still nice. The water unfortunately, at least for my taste, is a little too murky, but that won't bother most folks. This is a great place to spend the day if you are in Mississippi. Yeah, Mississippi has nice beaches (well, not Florida nice, but nice). Here are a few photos I too along this part of the coast, while I drove through Gulfport, Biloxi and Long Beach, MS.See more..
4.0Tishomingo State Park(126 reviews) - What a fabulous place; historic and beautiful State Parks
We were detoured off the Natchez Trace Parkway and wandered into this park with a little research we had already done at home. The winding road through the deep woods and rivers led us to a beautiful historic bridge constructed in the 1930s. It’s a 1930s swinging bridge for pedestrians made of cables, heavy timber on the walkway, and stone/masonry for supports on both ends. Only five people are allowed on at a time. It was really fun. They have tents to camp in there and cabins. Great for groups and school groups.See more..
3.0Tupelo National Battlefield(118 reviews) - Small battlefield in Tupelo Saturday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Historic Sites • National Parks • Battlefields
There really isn't much to it but a memorial, a cannon, and some graves. That said, it is worth taking the time to walk the ground and see what is left of a battlefield that has been enveloped by commercialism and property grabs. There is a little sliver of a parking area just off the road, but you would be best served driving past the battlefield and doing a turn around to park facing direction of travel. I wonder if Elvis was ever "in the building" as a kid when he lived in Tupelo?See more..
4.5Bonita Lakes Park(109 reviews) - Nice place for a walk! Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Biking Trails • Parks
Bonita Lakes Park has wooded hiking trails, biking, and two lakes. There are several playgrounds and excercise stations. walking trails two lakes. During weekdays it is generally peaceful and quiet. Its a perfect place for indviduals or families to get outside and enjoy themselves a bit. See more..
Didn't know this place existed but glad I found it. There is always some discount going on like bring Coke cans for a discount off ticket prices. For us, it was bring a back to school item. The little Dollar Tree items I bought knocked $5 off of each of our tickets. There is fun for all ages but the majority is for those over 48 inches. My kids had fun for a little over 3 hours here. 3.5Wall Doxey State Park(54 reviews) - Day trip Saturday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM State Parks
Was a little concerned after reading some of these reviews, but we found Wall Doxey State Park very nice. We only planned a day trip to picnic, fish, and walk trails. The camp sites were all full, kids were playing at the playground, the grounds were very well manicured, the picnic areas were clean, and the toilet rooms were clean (for a State Park... not like a restaurant). The trails were fun and had some good elevation change. There were markers along the short trail. Not sure they are accurate on the distance... lol walked them both and fitbit says we walked 4 miles and traversed 10 flights of stairs! Only negative was the lake was a little "mossy", and the banks weren't cut to walk around and fish. Cost $5 to "walk the banks" and fish, but really only got to stay on the docks. Definitely worth a day trip!See more..
I live in Tupelo, and would refer anyone to Ballard Park, maybe just to feed the ducks or take their children there, It is an all around great place to spend the day! See more..
We have camped several times at Trace State Park. It has always been very clean and quiet. The lake was drained several years ago for repairs, but is now fully open. It is also a beautiful place with lots of wildlife. My husband loves to kayak on this lake. It is a busy lake with jet ski and ski boats, but it has a very large fishing area. There is also a horse barn and trails, dirt bike trails too. It also has full hookups…no dumping!!! It is also near Tupelo and restaurants. My favorite place.See more..
This is a small (30+/- sites) RV park about a mile from the front gate down a potholed road - some sites are on the lake. The heavily treed cement back in spots are not particularly level front to back, and side to side. The modern convenient hookups (water & electric) functioned properly. Some OTA stations, not much chance for satellite reception, no cable tv or included WiFi, and Verizon cell service was okay. The bathrooms are in need of an overhaul - clean but dated and not that well maintained. Know that you not only need a code to get through the entry gate, but also to exit (?).See more..

4.0Pascagoula Beach Park(33 reviews) - Great public facility that keeps getting better! Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Playgrounds
Beach Park has nicely equipped, well kept grounds. There are numerous public events, such as music or movies, held there each month and it is well utilized for parties and other gatherings. There is a pier that you can walk out or fish from and a well-maintained sand beach. There's plenty of shade in the park and there is a snack shop.See more..
4.5Lamar Park(33 reviews) - The scenery is uhhhmazing Spent 1-2 hours Parks
This is one of the best places to come for a jog, a walk, to relax and enjoy the scenery, to bring your pet, and or to bring your kids and let them run around. It is so beautiful. There are benches throughout that allow you to just sit and take in the view. There are some amazing sculptures to check out. You will love this park. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 start raining is because throughout this giant park there are no bathrooms that are open. This is a huge inconvenience especially when you got children. I had to drive to the nearest shell station to use the bathroom. They could add something like Porter potty’s. Other than that it’s amazing. See more..
We camped for four nights in May. The grounds are well kept. The trails are very nice. The rv camping area is small, which makes it very nice and not rowdy. There is a nice playground for children and a disc golf course. Jeff (the Park Manager) is the best Park Manager we have ever encountered!! He checks in regularly throughout the day on the campground and is seen around the park. He does not hideout in an office all day. He is very engaged with the campers and makes you feel as though you are camping at home. We were in site 14 because it was the only one available. This site does not have sewer, which did not create a problem for us. If you want a beautiful campground with an awesome Park Manager, Tombigbee State Park is your place. We will definitely return to this park.See more..
3.5Roosevelt State Park(32 reviews) - Nice spot to stop for the night State Parks • Parks
I was traveling thru and needed to stop for the night. While this state park could use some major upkeep I must say that it's a beautiful location. The park staff was very friendly. The downside is that it really does need some upkeep. The women's room in the main office building had mold/mildew on the ceiling. The roads and campsites are in rough condition. I gave this campground 4 stars though because it was VERY clean and quiet and I very much enjoyed my stay. The park was only about 10% full though. Not sure how it would be during the busy season. Not sure it's a destination but it's fine for a night if you need hook ups and are tired of drivingSee more..
4.5DEFY Jackson (High Heaven)(32 reviews) - Always a Fun Spot to Meet New Friends Spent < 1 hour Amusement & Theme Parks
Every time we come here whether for an amazing birthday party or for a day to release pent up energy the kids always have a blast. I enjoy it too, watching them act silly and play dodgeball, basketball, and walk the tightrope. Our middle daughter is a gymnast and this place really is like a heaven for her! They have seating in an upper floor for adults or limited couch type seating on the main floor. They have plenty of adult supervision by the staff and rules are enforced for safety! We are glad High Heaven came to Flowood!See more..
Many African Americans who fled Southern plantations and farms seeking freedom and protection found the Union occupied Corinth to be a secure location. Union General Grenville Dodge understood what effect the defection of thousands of African Americans would have on the Confederate War effort. He began to enlist the escaped slaves who came into his lines as teamsters, cooks, and laborers. He actively recruited male refugees, armed them, and placed them in charge of security at the newly organized contraband camp in Corinth.See more..

We visited the Dunn Falls with low expectations. Well it was Heavenly ! There are trails in the area but, the Falls were magnificent ! We spent at least 3 hours walking in the river and the Falls. The river has a very rocky bottom so be very careful walking in it . The current is somewhat strong. Keep an eye on your little kids. There is a cabin that can be rented also. I can’t wait to go back . I would recommend a picnic lunch, fast food is scarce around there!See more..
4.0Grand Paradise Water Park(30 reviews) - Fun! Saturday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Water Parks
This is not a large water park but its so nice because its not crowded at all. It's more geared toward younger kids with the lazy river, 3 kiddie areas with splash pools and slides, but there are 4 big water slides too. There are covered cabanas throughout for rent. There are several places for shade. The food prices are reasonable as are the admission prices. Well worth the trip! My only advice is to wear swim shoes because the pavement gets really hot!See more..
Hands down one of the best places for a family to go for a combination of fitness and entertainment in the Hattiesburg area. This place has everything from trampolines to a ninja course, game room with great food, and now they have an awesome laser tag! Don't think it's just for kids either, I think I may have actually had more fun than mine. The staff was very nice and attentive to everyone and the entire facility is first rate. I highly recommend this trampoline park to anyone looking for an exhausting good time.See more..
4.0JP Coleman State Park(28 reviews) - Wonderful getaway Spent More than 3 hours Marinas • State Parks • Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas
My husband spent the weekend at this beautiful park. We have stayed in the cabins several times, but decided to try the motel room for this visit. The room had 2 queen beds, full size refrigerator and stove, microwave, sink, dishes, coffee pot, and table with 4 chairs. We also had a wonderful balcony with a view of the water. There are 16 motel rooms and all are on the second floor- no elevator. There are also townhouses available. There is plenty of parking. We had our bass boat and there was no problem with parking boats and trailers. The marina is within sight of the motel. This is a fisherman's paradise with largemouth and smallmouth bass. Pickwick Lake is located on the Tennessee River. This park is about 12 miles from the town of Iuka, MS. I highly recommend this park, especially if you like to fish.See more..
4.5Lake Lowndes State Park(20 reviews) - Great Park State Parks • Bodies of Water • National Parks
I came for the disc golf course, which was great. But the park itself is nice. The playground area is updated and clean. There’s the lodge with restrooms, a basketball court and more. The campground area was busy with a dozen or so of the units being used. There wasn’t anyone at the entry shack, and no envelopes, but I was able to pay at the lodge, and they even could take credit cards. Overall it was a great visit and I look forward to going back. We stayedin this State Park for 2 nights in our 35 ft 5th wheel. It is a small quiet park about 5 miles off I 55. The price is right (around $16 night for seniors) The RV sites have beautiful views if you choose one on the lake. Now for the scarey parts. The single lane roads are paved and very curvy. The park map suggests that they are all about the same size but it's not really accurate. We ended up staying in site 28 which was perfect for our truck and RV. My husband says that this is a park where you can sit back and admire your driving skills if you make it in and out successfully!!See more..
5.0Flowood Nature Park(18 reviews) - Beautiful and secluded park Spent 1-2 hours Parks
A nature park with lots of gardens, a small pond with a water fountain, many geese, squirrels, and fox (on occasion). The park is equipped with water tanks and cups for walkers and runners. 5.0War Memorial Park(16 reviews) - Super park for kids Spent 1-2 hours Parks
This place was a really cool find. Just off the beach in The Pass, war memorial park has lots of fun things for kids. A nice playground with swings, slides and climbing jungles we’re great for both our 2 and 5 year olds. There’s a comfortable, mostly shaded walking path around the park. There are workout stations as well. We tried out the splash pad at the north end and it was a success with both kids, too. It’s a cool park and great for an early morning with kids.See more..

General Store was stocked with nice items you might need in a pinch, firewood, sun screen, candy for the kids, logo shirts and coffee mugs. 4.5Chatauqua Park(10 reviews) - Visited while at B&B Parks • Playgrounds
Very spacious, has plenty of history and beauty. People were fishing, ducks were all over and there were cute little bridges and paths to walk.See more..
Felt more like a city park than anything. The camping area was not secured from the public area except by a low gate. People were parking in the public parking and then simply climbing over the low barriers to come and fish right at people’s camping spot. We ended up using their website to see unreserved sites and moving because some random locals decided that the portion of the lake at the edge of our camping spot was the perfect fishing spot – loud conversations, music and all. It was strange and uncomfortable in our reserved spot; however, once we moved it was much better. There are lots of bright lights and it did not really feel like real camping at all. It felt more like camping in the back yard. I would recommend sites 41 or lower to get away from the people fishing all night. Only 1 bathroom open.See more..

This is such a hidden gem and Mr. Joel is the best! He booked us Cabin number one. It has the most beautiful location, although all of the cabins are great in their own way. loved the hiking trails, although wish they were marked with half way points so you know to keep going and not turn back. other than that. It was one of my favorite State Parks. I got really great pictures and a peaceful break from everyday life. Also, if you stay visit Mathis Peach Orchard and Produce Stand right up the Road. Cabin has everything you need but you may want to bring soft toilet paper, sharp chef knives, fluffy pillows and bigger towels for ultimate comfort in the gorgeous cabins. Highly recommend Clarko State Park. We will definitely be back in the Fall. See more..
4.0McLeod Park(8 reviews) - Back to Nature Spent 1-2 hours Parks
Set on the edge of the Stennis Space Center's exclusion zone, this small state park has a 1.25 mile nature trail in addition to playgrounds and camping facilities. The park sits in about the middle of the Jourdan River Blueway -- an 8.5 mile canoe/kayak "trail" through coastal floodplains and a river ecological system. Our visit was a quite Saturday afternoon stroll through the short nature trail -- plenty of bird, pretty views, and fresh air. There's a $2 entry fee, but that nothing for such a great day!See more..
