One of my favorite places to take guests when they visit Natchez. Gravesites day’s back to the 1700s. The stories that have been handed down through history are timeless. If you can book a cemetery tour, you will not be disappointed. The Angels on the Bluff tours happen each November and are quickly sold out within a week. Worth a visit if you have time while visiting Natchez.See more..

4.5Old Biloxi Cemetery(80 reviews) - Jefferson Davis Presidential Library Saturday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Cemeteries
We loved the tour of Jefferson Davis' former home, the confederate cemetery, and the presidential library next door. At the house, the history and living conditions given by the docent were wonderful. The library was equally impressive. It should be a must see for anyone interested in American history while visiting Biloxi.See more..

4.5Cedar Hill Cemetery(48 reviews) - Find the grave of Douglas, one and only confederate camel Cemeteries
To be honest, we came for the Douglas the Confederate camel gravestone. If you aren't familiar with this little civil war episode, that is both tragic and sort of funny, I would recommend googling his story. The camel grave is located exactly where previous reviewers have noted: Enter the secondary entrance at Lindsay street and you feel find it part way up the hill, on the left, second row before you reach the second cross street. I only want to add that the camel gravestone is small and blends in. We were expecting it to be larger and easily identifiable and missed it on our first drive by. The whole cemetery is beautiful and well maintained. It is quiet, somber and dignified. I am hoping that we can preserve this place and others like it instead of rushing to erase our history.See more..
This is a great place for history buffs. Although it is a drive through, some walking to read the plaques and such is good. There is a lot to see and very interesting and educational. To stand at the top of the hill and look out over the battlefield is amazing. It is time consuming so plan on at least half the day. Due to Covid the centers were not open and some things were limited. Also no restrooms available on the route. I do recommend this place.See more..

Turtle Skin Cemetery was in the town of Santa Rosa that is no more. In 1961 the residence were move out as well as the businesses so that NASA could test engines for the Apollo Space Program at the Stennis Space Center. All that is left of Santa Rosa is the old Turtle Creek Cemetery and the historical marker that tells the story.See more..
5.0Glenwood Cemetery(1 review) - Glenwood Cemetery - an interesting place to visit Cemeteries
The one thing that draws visitors to Glenwood cemetery is the grave of the Witch of Yazoo City, a legend that started when the majority of the city burned down in a fire in the early 1900s. Native Yazoo City author Willie Morris (author of My Dog Skip) wrote about the legend of the Witch of Yazoo City in his book Good Old Boy. I lived in Yazoo City for several years, and there were always a lot of out of town visitors stopping by the cemetery and visiting the grave of the witch. Wille Morris himself is buried just a couple of graves away - very appropriate. If you are driving through Yazoo City, definitely stop by.See more..
