4.5Cat Head Delta Blues & Folk Art(268 reviews) - The Cat’s Pajamas ! Sunday: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM Speciality & Gift Shops • Art Galleries
CAT HEAD is Mississippi's blues store in Clarksdale since 2002 — and your first stop for 'live' music info and more! "It's like shopping in a juke joint. It's the store I always wanted to walk into but could never find," according to owner-operator Roger Stolle. (Stolle moved to Clarksdale to "help organize and promote the blues from within.") The rustic hundred-year-old building is packed with blues, Mississippi, Southern and Clarksdale souvenirs and favorites — including CDs, vinyl LPs, DVDs, books, T-shirts, hats, barware, artwork and much more. Customers can also shop CAT HEAD's large Web Store at www.cathead.biz. Clarksdale, Mississippi, features 'live' blues music 365 days a year. Stolle tracks (and facilitates) it, so can tell where to go, who to hear and what to see. He's also produced blues films and CDs — plus written two books, "Hidden History of Mississippi Blues" and "Mississippi Juke Joint Confidential. Musicians sometimes play out front CAT HEAD store for tips.See more..

We opened under the name T-shirt City and remained that over the years as we expanded by buying the businesses around the store. In 2000 we purchased the adjacent office building and joined the two buildings, creating the largest gift shop on the Mississippi Gulf coast. We felt something was missing, so we then added a 32ft tall giant shark mouthSee more..

Everyone was so helpful and attentive. Take a purse full of money if you want to purchase handmade items from Scotsman. The cutting boards and other items they make are of the highest quality. Don't compare them to other cheap wooden items made in far away places or you will go away empty handed. I didn't! Ben's shop is a little smaller that I expected (it looks a lot larger on TV). We had a great time! Make sure the check all the store hours because they differ greatly and spring for the Laurel Tour, that is the only way you can see some of the houses they have worked on. We were there the end of December.See more..

4.5McCarty's Pottery(30 reviews) - The Allure of McCarty Pottery Spent 1-2 hours Speciality & Gift Shops
McCarty Pottery is a delta treasure. The trips there are always so enjoyable. I love the memories of Lee and Pup working while we shopped. Mr. McCarty always tickled me with his stories and talked me into buying things I didn't even realized that I wanted. Today those are some of my favorite pieces. I have to say that Stephen and Jamie are doing an incredible job of caring on their legacy. I am always drawn in by the simplicity of the outside of the building. You never know what treasure you are going to find. A couple of weeks ago I happened to be there just has Stephen was putting out a Cobalt Punchbowl. What a wonderful find! I was absolutely thrilled! I highly recommend you go when you have time to browse. Also take you credit card and leave your purse in the car. You need both hands and its hard to walk around with a large purse. Now its not cheap so be prepared to only come out with a few pieces at a time. That the allure of it!See more..

We were visiting the town of Clarksdale doing the Delta Blues road trip. We popped into this shop and were welcomed by the owner Deak Harp. He gave us his back story and found out that he has toured all over the world. He has recorded numerous blues records and played one of his songs on the spot. He is quite the character and super nice. ( He had just filmed a segment for Ozzy Osbourn and his son Jacks show). We bought a mouth harp (harmonica) for our daughter. He makes them too.
